Nuh-uh, just me reliving it's magic on DVD. ^^
(God, that sounds so cheesy.)
Yeah, I don't really watch much TV either...
Oh, wow. Those shows are pure geek heaven.

Well worth a watch if you can get hold of them. You don't really even need to know Japanese to enjoy it.

Lol...it sounds like a great tagline to something. (⌒▽⌒)

What are the baka tono skits like? I think I have an idea what the genre is like but not sure.

For example, Bakatono-sama (Shimura's character) is quite a womanizer, so he's frequently caught trying to sneak out of his castle to spy on some woman, or devises various schemes to peek beneath the kimonos of the ladies at court.
In other skits he ends up bored with his kingly duties and tries to find some way to entertain himself. I particularly enjoyed one where he organized a gross food competition between the ladies of the court and his samurai. He made each side try to outdo the other by throwing random food items in a blender and feeding the concoction to the opposite side (yes, Shimura Ken has a habit of mixing modern technology with the feudal setting, often with hilarious results). The samurai won.
We would love to hear recommendations or what you are enjoying right now!
