Leigh | 1219 comments The severe brutality of his life was overwhelming at times. I love this series. I have read the series and I am in the process of re-reading it.

Leigh | 1219 comments She has a way of doing that. I love how she intertwines the books and characters.

Leigh | 1219 comments I really the Chronicles of Nick series. Bubba is hilarious! I have only read Born of Night (The League, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon but I would like to read the rest of the series.

Leigh | 1219 comments I liked it. It had a Star Wars or Battlestar Galatica feel to it. As always it is the characters that come to life as you read her books that keep me reading.

Leigh | 1219 comments I hope you enjoy it.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments I keep hearing that Styxx is a hard read due to brutality.

Like Leigh, I like the Nick series, he is my favorite in the DH series.

I really like the Born of series, am listening to the newest one right now.

Leigh | 1219 comments I have them all on audio and that how I am re-reading them. She has some good narrators. Yes, give them a try.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments I have to agree with Leigh about the audio books. That is the only way that I read the DH books. I am waiting for my library to get the audio for Styxx before reading it.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments I think that by listening vs reading you get a different perspective, especially when you re-read.

Leigh | 1219 comments A great book to re-read is Talon's book Night Embrace (Dark-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon . The audio is one of a good one. I just finished listening to that one.

Stephanie (StephsBookRetreat) | 29 comments may I ask... What is the big deal with the Dark Hunter series?? I have a few of them, and I have read a few other books by Kennyon, but nothing that made me crazy like a few people I have seen on other sites where people name their children after her characters. I'm not judging, just asking.

Lisarenee | 2046 comments The Kenyon books that got me the most tearful so far are:
Acheron (Dark-Hunter, #15) by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Born of Silence (The League, #5) by Sherrilyn Kenyon . They are among my top 10. I know there are more books by other authors too, but I can't think of them at this point. I think one was by Nalini Singh.

Alisa @Stephanie.......I'm kind of with you. I read one of the later in the series books, the one w/Sundown & didn't like it at all. All this talk of Styxx has made me start the series. I'm just started book 3. I thought books one & two were OK but I don't see why the hoopla. I'm going to read a few more since I already have most of them to see if I become more enamored.

Stephanie (StephsBookRetreat) | 29 comments @ Alisa, I've been reading her Belador series and books with Diana Love, and I like them, nothing where I would freak out, but I like them. Glad to know, I'm not crazy. Lol

Naming the kids is a bit much!

I am a fan of the series and there are some books I just love and others that are meh.

What I like about it is the mythology along side the mix of vampires and shifters. I think her characters are interesting, I love they are different both physically and emotionally. I will also admit I think she is funny. Not to mention I am a sucker for the tortured hero which she does really well...sometimes to well.

I will say that normally I am not a fan of the dream hunter books - for whatever reason it does not work for me.

That is so true of this series.

This is true of me as well. Overall, I enjoy the series and the ongoing story-arc but alongside the ones that I've loved, Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter, #4; Were-Hunter, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Seize the Night (Dark-Hunter, #7) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Unleash the Night (Dark-Hunter, #9; Were-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon , the have been others that made me ask why I was bothering with the series at all such as Dark Side of the Moon (Dark-Hunter, #10; Were-Hunter, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Upon the Midnight Clear (Dream-Hunters, #2; Dark-Hunter, #13) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

As to naming children after the characters, that is definitely on the excessive side :0)
