Wow... Hey I would like to know what about this book made you hate it... I actually loved this one...

Fatema | 6 comments The Fault in Our Stars by John Green .. it's not that I hated the book or anything.. I'm just not satisfied the way it end. As a reader.. When I start reading a book I'd like it to end without leaving any question in my mind.. This book doesn't do that.. Apart from that a good book.. Makes you think you easy our lives are comparing to some people.

C.A. McGroarty (camcgroarty) | 11 comments The Da Vinci Code (Robert Langdon, #2) by Dan Brown I just never understood the hype. I am by NO MEANS a Bible beater, however I am Christian and the level of inaccuracy was steady...flip side is I love fiction and write fiction so here's to artistic freedom!

What question did it leave in your mind?

message 165: by A_quiet_read (new)

A_quiet_read If I Stay - Gayle Foreman.

Apparently some people here also hated it.
I wouldn't say I hate it but I dislike it.
It was way too cold. I mean the situation was sureal but still, everyone acted so cold like it's a usual thing that this happens. And some stuff was out of hand. If he wanted to frkn visit his comatosed girlfriend in the icu I'm sure that it could have been arranged without the drama and the cool aunt who's apparently the boss of everybody even though she doesn't work there anymore. And there are so many other things that made the story shitty.
The idea behind it is great but it wasn't handled very well.

I really loved the book and think it is a must read though it gets a bit irritating towards the end. Anyways, everybody has their own choice.

Sheetal Dash (sheetalsdash) | 64 comments The Great Gatsby- still can't figure out what's so great about it.

Life of Pi- Can anyone tell me why is there so much hype surrounding it? Was it because of the movie?

Chaitalee Ghosalkar All of Chetan Bhagat's books :P

message 175: by John (last edited Nov 07, 2014 08:03AM) (new)

John Bohnert I truly do not understand why THE CATCHER IN THE RYE is considered a classic. The narrator is a weird teenage boy who has a very negative attitude. Why would anyone think this was a great book? Life's too short to waste time reading such a book.

message 176: by Luis (new)

Luis | 12 comments People will hate me for this, but Twilight. Oh my gosh, I had to force myself to finish this book, and I even had the second book but after reading the first one, I just couldn't look at it so i gave them both to my niece without even reading the second book. The idea the author had for the story was alright I guess, my main problem was with her writing style. I know that the books were extremely successful and that tons of people like them, but to be honest, i really don't understand why. But hey, that is just me, nothing against the people who like the book. :)

No, the movie was okay, although I love Ang Lee usually (director), but the book was brilliant. I'll have to write a review sometime to tell you my thoughts. I have one friend of twelve or so who hated it.

You probably don't know but there are lot of twilight haters. In thoushands or even more. You can find twilight haters everywhere on goodreads too. I am a big twilight hater and an even biggger hater of the protagonist Bella. I actually liked eclipse a little and really liked breaking dawn. I felt like flinging twilight and new moon into a gutter.I hate the author's writing style as well.Anyways, you can't say that everybody loved it because there are so many haters including me and you maybe :D

Chaitalee Ghosalkar I don't know if others loved it, but Amazing Grace by Danielle Steel was a complete waste of my time. It was bad enough for me to swear off from the write.r

BlaiddDrwg | 39 comments Twilight series. I'm not even sure why I've read the whole series. Maybe hoping that I'll find ANYTHING good in it.
And lately Thirteen Reasons Why
I can't remember when was the last time I felt so sick about a book.

Well, I haven't actually read it but I think I should add Fifty Shades of Grey. It's one of the books on my list called "I don't care what is it about, I hate the idea so I won't read it. ever."

message 188: by Zenling (new)

Zenling Oh my God... Fifty Shades of whatever... I don't know why I finish trilogy...may be curiosity for BDSM world and it doesn't even represent it correctly. I discover that thing in a drugstore book section and I saw it was a bestseller (????). I read it in pieces and in electronic form. To this I prefer million times read Barbara Cartlan romantic novels (Please don't laugh at me...) I'm a very flexible reader but this Fifty thing...If I want to have sexual and romantic fantasies about something I prefer the classical Bram Stocker Dracula thing. hahahaha! yes... Gary Oldman is guilty. hehehehe.

message 196: by Vedika (new)

Vedika | 21 comments I did not like Since You've Been Gone at all. The book was extremely boring which is sad considering the fun summer premise it was set in. The main character was extremely passive and clingy to her best friend in a cannot-function-without-her way. It was really a drag to read through till the end.

message 197: by Zenling (new)

Zenling Whaaaaaat!!!!!! I have to concede this with all my heart. That was too much... A little secret ...I can't even read the first paragraph of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It was like eating "literary stones" down my throad. I read some classics without a problem but I can't stomach this one I don't know why... I supose is that there are books that for one reason or another don't appeal to a specific reader.
