SOLVED. A flaming red haired-woman on the cover, a group of people remain in a town where people disappear overnight [s]

There was this old book I had read(only a few chapters) sometime in 2000s about a town where the protagonist, a girl goes with her boyfriend to have an abortion in the next town and when they come back they find the entire town people including their parents are missing. They encounter few others, few friends, who seem to not have disappeared. Then begins the haunt of a female with red-hair and each of the remaining people slowly start to die or kill themselves driven by the red-haired woman. I never couldn't finish the book and it has been haunting ever since to finish the book :P I have tried as much to find it but in vain.
