Welcome to the challenge, Claire. I really liked The Quiche of Death, I generally like Beaton's series. I also have Cloud Atlas on my TBR list. Share your thought on the reads, please :)Have a great time reading :)
Wow, not one book on there that I've read .... I'm not sure I dare look at them though, I already have enough on my TBR! :)
Thanks Cathie. I read Watership Down when I was in school (so a very long while ago!) but I don't remember anything about it so I am looking forward to reading it again.
First book finished. Affinity is the fourth Sarah Waters book I have read and they were all great. Tipping the Velvet is still my favourite though.
Cathie wrote: "Did you enjoy Bitter Water, Claire?"I did! It started off quite slowly but ended up with a gun battle by Loch Lomond. It definitely wasn't dull.
Finished Cloud Atlas, really enjoyed it. It is six separate but connected stories, they are quite different to each other but all are good. Would definitely recommend it.
I started my own list but only have 6 letters :) I will check out yours and see if there is anything I am interested in :) Thanks for posting.
Finished The Damned United. A slightly strange book. It was OK but not something I would recommend to anyone unless they were especially interested in the subject.
Finished The Founding. I think I have read it before there were little bits that I recognised, my Mum loved this series so I probably borrowed it off her. Interesting story it covered a period of about 50 years and there were lots of marriages and everyone having lots of babies and I did get a bit confused about who was who. I would like to read the rest of the series there are 35 so far!
Hi Claire, wow you're reading yours in alpha order.... That really really makes it challenging! I might try that next year (2015)
Finished another two. The Green Mile was good and quite sad at the end. I didn't really enjoy High Rise only 173 pages but still felt too long.
