Devendra Dave (devendradave) | 3 comments Hello All,
I am fan of Agatha Christie novels and looking for modern popular authors series which are mostly like Poirot series. Are there any new authors who has the same suspense and mystery in their series of novels as of Agatha Christie.

Could you please recommend me some. Thanking you all in advance and please do reply.

Miekey Rodriguez | 23 comments Try Zoe Sharp series if you like female leads. Or Lee Child's books are good.

Seeley James (seeleyjames) I agree on Zoe Sharp, here's a review I did a while back -- http://seeleyjames.com/2012/09/28/rev...

Peace, Seeley

Personally, I think the PD James books are a lot like Agatha Christie's books. That is they are puzzle mysteries that take place in an isolated environment. For me that is not a good thing. I like to see more variety and character development of the main characters.

Miss M | 560 comments R.T. Raichev has a series of 'country house crimes' which is contemporary:
The Hunt for Sonya Dufrette

Also, L.C. Tyler's books are a little bit more of a send-up of the Golden Age, but fun, IMO:
The Herring Seller's Apprentice

Gary Van Cott | 187 comments I really like the Bruno books. There are now 5. However, I think there needs to be more happening in Bruno's personal life than we have seen in the most recent books. He seems to be stuck.

Bill You might like W.J. Burley's Wycliffe series. The first was Wycliffe and the Three-Toed Pussy, written in 1968

Cheryl M-M (cherylm-m) | 2 comments Caroline Graham
Death Of A Hollow ManThe Killings At Badger's Drift
The Midsomer Murder books are set in the English countryside.
Or the Agatha Raisin series (also very tea and crumpet type mystery)
Agatha Raisin and the Potted Gardener

Of course nothing is ever quite like a Christie. ;0)
