Mandy (mettakaruna) I agree with you Cindy. Savannah Blues was better!! I think I read Hissy Fit too. Just don't remember. I have to read the description.

message 53: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cyndil62) | 1774 comments Read the description and see if you can remember; then let me know if it's worth the time! :)

Shelby *trains flying monkeys* I've been wanting to try Mary Kay Andrews too. I love southern books.

message 55: by Mandy (new)

Mandy (mettakaruna) Cindy ~ I didn't read it. It's on my TBR shelf. No wonder why I couldn't remember. LOL

Shelby ~ Savannah Blues was great. It reminded me of a Lifetime Movie.

message 56: by Rose (last edited Aug 04, 2009 12:53PM) (new)

Rose (roseo) I read three of her books written as Mary Kay Andrews after reading her cozy mysteries written under her real name, which is Kathy Hogan Trocheck.
She also was a journalist who covered the real-life murder trials which were the basis of the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Cool, huh?

message 57: by Rose (new)

Rose (roseo) Also, there is THE BEST chicken salad recipe in her book Little Bitty Lies!

message 58: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cyndil62) | 1774 comments Wow, cool to know Rose! Were her mysteries good too? Thanks for the info!

Rose (roseo) Cindy wrote: "Wow, cool to know Rose! Were her mysteries good too? Thanks for the info!"

Yes, I enjoyed them, and that was why I read the Mary Kay Andrews books.

I used to be a huge fan of "cozy" mysteries. I devoured them so voraciously that now I don't really remember much about them (I don't even feel right about listing them in my "books read"). But, they were great fun!

Cindy (cyndil62) | 1774 comments 70. The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton Very good! A 5 star read for me!

message 63: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) | 654 comments I'm reading that now, Cindy! Was the beginning a bit slow for you? I cannot tell if it's the novel or me being sick which has dragged the first chapters.

message 64: by Holli (new)

Holli I've got that one to pick up at the libary tomorrow to start next....

message 65: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cyndil62) | 1774 comments Maybe the beginning was just a little slow; it kept flipping back and forth, and I just had to keep reading to find out what happened in each time period. I quickly got used to this style though, but it seems others just didn't like the style or the book. Maybe it was my mood at the time, but I really enjoyed it!
