Combine Editions Requests

Hi,

I'm having a problem adding my books and I think it's because of my initials. I use J. A. Menzies, and that's what the books are listed at when readers add them. But on Goodreads, my name is J.A. Menzies so it doesn't let me add or combine books with J. A. in the listing.

I wanted to update the cover for Shaded Light (what has a new subtitle: The Case of the Tactless Trophy Wife) but when I tried to add the book with the right cover, I ended up with a ghost book. Ditto when I tried to add another book. That was before I realized what the problem is.

These are my books but they all say J. A.

Hello J.A.;

This is a quote from the Goodreads Librarian Manual:

"If an author uses initials in their name, the initials should contain NO spacing between them and be marked with a period. No spaces within the letters of a name."

To list these books under your name, the author name will need to match your author name.

I don't have spacing in my name. My problem is that other people have added books, and they do have spacing. And I can't change them. So how do I combine or add them to my books?

Sorry about the confusion; the spaces have been taken out of the author's name and the books are now accredited to your author profile.

Can you also combine the two Shaded Lights? The one that ought to be the main one has the subtitle with the garden picture. Or should I be able to do that?

Shaded Lights and Glitter of Diamonds have been combined with their respective titles.

Regarding the default edition, it seems only Goodreads Authors can do that at this time. Go to the edition's page and select "edit details" - on the mid-right side of the page, you should see a button that says "Set this book as primary edition"

On back cover of persian edition has a description as same meaning in mentioned English one,but with more details. Is it acceptable or you want exact translated?
