UNPUTDOWNABLE. If I did not have a 2yr old I would have read this in one sitting.
First can I just say that I cannot believe I have to WAIT for a book2.
Seriously Ms. Murphy I need that book NOW!

Schools are letting out for Thanksgiving break but home is the last place 21yr old Drew wants to be. His childhood home is more like the house of horrors. He knows he can't face going there alone so he decides to take his girlfriend with him. Problem is he does not have a girlfriend.
Making Ends Meet. Well, That's the plan
Fable works two jobs to help pay the bills. Looking after her little brother mind as well be another full time job. At 13 he is starting to get in to trouble at school. With a mother who could care less, Fable must now play the role of responsible adult instead of attending college and partying like other young adults her age.
Ummm... Could you be my girlfriend?
Drew waits outside of a local bar called La Salle for Fable to get off work. When she finally does he approaches her. A few words are exchanged before he can ask what he really wants..
“I want you to pretend to be my girlfriend for a week.” ~Drew
Fable cannot understand why Drew Callahan "the golden boy quarterback" needs her, when he can have any girl he wants. But deep inside she knows why. Fable has a rep. She is considered easy and even admits to Drew that she has hooked up with a few of his teammates.
Fable is reluctant at first but once he tells her $3,000.00 is what he'll pay. And assures her sex is not involved, her answer is an automatic YES. Her family needs the money she can't turn it down plain and simple.

It takes Fable 1.5 seconds to realize that everything is not what it seems. The picture perfect life Drew has is a facade and in reality is not all it's cracked up to be. In fact as the week goes on she realizes that something is wrong. And she is afraid of what may have Drew so on edge in his own home.
My Thoughts -SPOILER FREE
YES, WHAT THE FUCK? That was my first thought as the story unfolded and I realized what was going on. I had to pause...
The deeper into the plot the more I became enraged.
I thought.. Why? How? Why? How? On constant repeat.
Then Suddenly...

He might be more trouble than he's worth but I don't think so. This man came into my life for some reason. Just as I came into his. Maybe we're supposed to help each other cope. Or give each other hope.
Drew Callahan and Fable Maguire come from two different worlds and yet they seem to have so much in common. Drew is the popular college football player and Fable is a waitress at the local bar in town that all the college kids hang out as. She's got quite the reputation around campus, and she doesn't even attend the school. Fable's home life is less than perfect. She works two jobs to support her and her younger brother, while her mother goes out and drinks and sleeps around with different men. Fable turns to guys for affection. Always searching for that closeness to make her feel the love she clearly never received at home. Her reputation is also exaggerated just a tad!! Drew's family life is beyond heartbreaking and dysfunctional. He goes through life trying to avoid the guilt and shame of his past. Football and school are his escape.
Now Drew is faced with a dilemma. He's being forced to go home for Thanksgiving week and he decides to approach Fable, who he has never spoken to, and asks if she will come home with him and pretend to be his girlfriend for the week. He offers her $3000 for her time. At first things are awkward since they hardly know each other but as they spend time together, feelings are clearly starting to develop between them.
I have to say this story was very predictable to me. I knew right away what was haunting Drew and that huge reveal at the end?? I saw that coming a mile away. Although I think that someone is telling a huge lie!! BUT, even though it was predictable, I really did enjoy this story so much! I loved how at times some of the writing was very poetic. I also found myself falling for Drew.
These two have some scorching hot chemistry and I am so happy that I decided to read this when all the books have already been released because that cliffy at the end has me dying to get to book two as soon as I can!!

Drew Callahan is going home for Thanksgiving and he needs a fake girlfriend for a week to bring to his parents' house. That way, he can show them that he is in fact capable of keeping a girl for a longer amount of time, and he hopes this way his father and stepmother won't bother him too much while he's at home. But that's not the only reason why he's so dreadful of going back to the place where he grew up.
"I need a buffer to get me through what could end up being one of the worst weeks of my life. Thank God for Fable. She has no clue how much she's helping me. She can never know either." ~ Drew
Fable Maguire has always been everybody's second choice. No one really seems to care about her. She's from the "poorer" side of town so she has to work extra hours to keep up with paying rent and taking care of her little brother, since their mother's almost never home. So, when Drew Callahan, the university's golden boy and star quarterback offers her 3000 dollars to be his fake girlfriend for a week, Fable decides that even though it makes her feel cheap and used, that amount of much needed money, makes Drew's offer one she can't refuse.
"There is no room for romance in my life. It's so stupid, but I let guys use me because for one fleeting moment, when he's focusing all of his attention on me and no one else, it feels good. It helps me forget that no one really cares." ~ Fable.
What neither of them expects though, is that although their relationship is based on "appearances", slowly but surely they begin to rely on each other more and more. They realize that they're not so different from each other, that they're both broken deep down inside and that maybe their "temporary" relationship can become something much more permanent.
"This man came into my life for some reason. Just as I came into his. Maybe we're supposed to help each other cope. Or give each other hope." ~ Fable
But their time together isn't filled with moments of bliss alone... dark secrets from Drew's past threaten to ruin their already fragile relationship. Then there's the fact that neither of them is fully sure of the other one's feelings, they're both unsure whether the other one's feelings are real are just part of the act, part of the "fake" relationship they've gotten their selves into.
"Everything between us isn't real and I have to remember that. No matter how good it feels."
And then there's the STEPMOTHER FROM HELL : Adele...
And then, the ending. Don't expect it to be a happy one... Drew did some things that made me a little angry.

One Week Girlfriend was a very surprising, unputdownable, fast-paced story that I very much enjoyed reading. Thankfully, the sequel is out already, so I'll be moving on to the second part of Drew and Fable story in Second Chance Boyfriend right away. I already know I'll be keeping my *fingers crossed* for a happy ending for these two...

4.5 MARSHMALLOW (but not the soft and squishy marshmallows….no, these are the fucked-up marshmallows!!!) STARS!!!!!
I did not expect to enjoy this book so much! The blurb sounded predictable and cliché (guy asks girl to be his pretend girlfriend…boring, right?...WRONG!). I found myself smiling and swooning and gasping and cursing….a lot!!!

Drew is a gorgeous all-star in college. Fable is the small-town slut. Drew convinces Fable to be his pretend girlfriend for a week over the holidays. He has an aversion to most girls, but Fable seems to get under his skin…in a good way. When they get to Drew’s parent’s house, Fable quickly realizes that his family is not so perfect. Drew and Fable grow closer together through the shit storm that is Drew’s family. I can’t say much more without spoiling.

Every now and then I pick a book listed in the news feed on the home page and immediately read it. A blogger had just reviewed this book and I thought , hmmm I love the cover and she said it had angst...SOLD!
MARSHMALLOW!!!
I love it, and to know what I am referring to you must read the book.
The premise of the story doesn't seem to be too unique upon first glance, but its exactly what the title implies and yet is soooo much more and better. I did not expect to find such emotion and even some angst in this story but was pleasantly surprised when I did. The story is told from alternating POV's which quite honestly I don't normally like, but in this story it is done perfectly. The reader is continually drawn into what the other character is thinking due to the deep and emotional story lines taking place. Thats right there are real true deep back stories in this book, but I can't tell you what they are due to spoilers. Just TRUST me on this.
Fable is the lead female character and yes her name is quite
distracting but fitting. She is strong and not a whining virgin. I love that she is sassy with a backbone. I love that she is the one that is strong over the big hunky jock that is Drew Callahan. So unexpected.
SWOONWORTHY DREW is HOTTTT! Not only is he hot he is deep. A fine ass football jock with.... baggage, lots and lots of baggage. He is so surprised by Fable and all that she can give him its touching. Not many young male lead characters grasp the need for this. My favorite sceene....under the trellis. SIGHHHHH!
The back and forth is typical as they get to know each other and reveal their insecurities. Typical but I loved every single moment.

Drew is a quiet, hot, rich, college quarterback who offers townie/barmaid Fable, (yes, that’s her name love it right!) three thousand dollars to spend Thanksgiving week with him and his dysfunctional parents, posing as his girlfriend.
What would a handsome guy like Drew need a pretend girlfriend for?
It’s pretty obvious that Drew has some really dark secrets. I would say that the majority of readers will be able to figure his secrets out but that’s not the allure of the story…Fable tries to save Drew from his demons and they fall in love through this charade.
Fable is a terrific character! She is outspoken, beautiful, loyal she has been searching for someone/anyone to love and make her feel. She has her own baggage but together they make the perfect couple.
”Honestly, I don’t quite know how we got to this point. I hated him on sight. I did this only for the money. I thought he was a fucked up mess. I still think he’s a fucked up mess. But so am I. And he’s so beautiful, so thoughtful, so vulnerable. We can be a mess together. I want to heal him. I know I can heal him.”
Fable’s week in this beautiful guest house on the water is like a fairytale in a way. Please note that the role of evil stepmother will be played by…Adele. Yep the woman is EVIL!!!
Fable and Drew’s relationship develops and grows beautifully despite his issues. The couple has great chemistry and they both find someone to rely on and trust. When the week is over their lives will never be the same.
The ending leaves us with a "hopeful" cliffhanger.

Drew Callahan is a college football star. He appears to have the perfect life. He’s a good looking guy, a good student, a great football player. He seems to have it all together, but it is all a facade.
From the outside, my family looks perfect. Well, as perfect as a family can be with one dead mother, and one dead sister. A fucked up stepmother and a cold as hell father. Yeah. Real perfect.
Drew has to go home for Thanksgiving. Something he really doesn’t want to do. He’s not sure he can handle it alone. So he decides to bring someone with him... Fable.
Fable is a local in the college town Drew lives in. Her life is totally different from Drew’s. She can’t go to college. No time or money. She works two jobs to help support her younger brother. Fable has a bit of a reputation from working at the local bar, and 'hooking up' with some of Drew's team mates.
It’s so stupid, but I let guys use me because for that one fleeting moment, when he’s focusing all of his attention on me and no one else, it feels good. It helps me forget that no one really cares.
Drew decides she would make the perfect candidate for his one-week, temporary girlfriend. When Drew approaches Fable, she has no idea why he would need her help. Drew should have no problem bringing home a real girlfriend. That has never been the problem for Drew. Girls always want to date him. But he can't do it. He has his reasons, which is why he needs Fable. She is hesitant at first, but when Drew offers her $3,000 for the week, she can’t turn it down. She needs the money to support her family.
After spending some time together at Drew’s home, Fable can immediately tell something is up. Drew has something from his past he is hiding. Something no one can ever find out about. The guilt eats at him. He doesn't feel like he can tell anyone.
“If I told you the truth, you’d hate me.” His voice is harsh, his expression pained. “I hate me for what I’ve done.”
I figured out part of the big twist pretty early on, but then there is something else that comes to light...
I really enjoyed this one. It wasn’t as light and fluffy as I thought it would be. Fable was a great leading lady. She is tough and I love how she helped Drew with everything. And Drew- Loved him! Hated what he had to go through, my heart broke for him. Hopefully in book 2 he can learn to forgive himself. The chemistry between Drew and Fable was hot! The ending was a bit of a cliffhanger, but the note- M-A-R-S-H-M-A-L-L-O-W... gives me hope for a HEA in book 2 for these two!

This was like taking a step into the unknown for me. I don’t read a huge amount of New Adult romances, I’m mostly an erotica gal, but something about the synopsis of this one really appealed to me and I decided to give it a go and I’m so glad I did. It’s a highly accomplished debut novel and I devoured it in one sitting. It’s intriguing, fascinating, sad and very compelling and has a real Pretty Woman vibe going on.
Drew is our hero – all American college football star, born with a whole silver dinner service in his mouth. A highly privileged childhood with his Father and Step-Mother but it seems money doesn’t buy happiness and right from the getgo Drew’s bone-deep sadness and extreme vulnerability were there in full force. I really felt for him – at first, I had absolutely no clue what was driving this guy to deceive his family that he had a girlfriend and, even as I guessed some of it, nothing would have prepared me for the whole shocking truth.
So he decides to hire Fable to be his one week girlfriend to take home to his wealthy family to spend Thanksgiving with them. Fable is most definitely from the wrong side of the tracks and, due to her loser and often absent mother, has taken on whole responsibility for raising her wayward thirteen year old brother. She works in a bar and also as a waitress and has a bit of a reputation amongst the college jocks for being easy and so Drew decides she’s the one for the job.
He’s wealthy enough to offer her a sizeable sum of money to make a big difference to her and her brother’s lives – he must really need to convince his family he’s dating. At first, I wondered if he was gay but his obvious attraction for Fable convinced me otherwise.
I really liked Fable. For a young girl, she’s a wise old soul and she’s very intuitive and soon begins to see that not everything in the garden is rosy at Drew’s family home. She guesses part of the dark and terrible secret, the motivations behind Drew’s actions but she and Drew do not know it all and there is more shocking revelations to come.
It was so lovely to see how these two travelled the road not yet taken – two kids from totally opposite backgrounds finding something in common and solace in one another's arms. Drew is damaged with a capital D and he’s putting is life on hold dealing with his issues, not really living at all, but Fable sets something free in him and she comforts him on a level that he’s just not been able to find before. Fable also lacks in self-worth and I wish I could say that Drew helped her there but he’s a little too wrapped up in his own issues but there is potential for more as the story is not yet complete and with a bit of a cliffhanger, we are left hanging on for more.

Los que me conocéis, sabéis que siempre voy contracorriente y suelo leer los libros cuando su boom ha pasado. Así evito dejarme llevar por la marea y consigo una opinión objetiva.
Con “Una semana contigo” tenia las expectativas muy altas debido a esa marea buenas opiniones que tuvo cuando se publicó, y aunque el libro me ha gustado pese a los numerosos tópicos que contiene, me ha faltado algo más.
Fable Maguire nunca ha tenido una vida fácil. Desde joven tuvo que dejar sus estudios de lado para ponerse a trabajar y poder mantener a su Owen, su hermano pequeño, ya que su madre alcohólica no está en las mejores condiciones para hacerlo. Por si eso fuera poco, la gran belleza de Fable y sus escarceos amorosos han conducido a que se cree una reputación de chica fácil en el pueblo donde viven. Y gracias a esa reputación, Fable recibe una oferta de dinero que no podrá rechazar.
Drew Callahan es guapo, inteligente, rico y la estrella de fútbol de su Universidad. Tiene todo lo que quiere, y podría tener a cualquier chica del campus, pero necesita urgentemente una chica que sea todo lo contrario a él y con muy mala reputación.
El plan es fácil, proponer a Fable que se haga pasar por su novia durante una semana a cambio de una escandalosa cantidad de dinero. Ambos aceptan el trato y se dirigen a pasar las vacaciones a casa de Drew, pero lo que ninguno de los dos contaba era con enamorarse perdidamente el uno del otro.
Suena a tópico y a historia trillada pero la autora sabe jugar bien sus cartas y logra mantenerte enganchada a sus páginas. Monica Murphy tiene una narración cuidada y directa, lo que permite que disfrutes el doble, pero no consigue mantener ese gran secreto hasta el final, ya que ofrece demasiadas pistas.
Con los personajes logra romper los estereotipos americanos, porque aunque Drew sigue el tópico de chico guapo estrella del fútbol, tiene su parte oscura y diferente. Fable es completamente original y nada predecible, y eso me ha encantado.
Es una historia corta que se lee muy rápido, pero tengo la sensación de que podía haber unido la bilogía en un solo libro.

I loved this book. It sounds so cheesy to say this but it consumed me. I couldn't put it down and when I had no other choice, I found myself thinking about it constantly until I could get back to reading. I need the sequel like yesterday! I have got to know what happens and I so hope these 2 don't disappoint me. I want them to have their "happy ever after." They both deserve it!

Oh, my... Am I really going to be the unpopular opinion? I can't believe the amount of five stars this is getting. Is there something wrong with my copy of the book or something? Because I found it infuriatingly ridiculous. It was like reading a bad-written soap opera. Despite all the forced drama that gathered in piles and piles I laughed trough this thing.
And I just kept wondering if the editor of this book hit his head or something. There were so many mistakes:
"The perfection description of how I'm feeling right now" <-This is from page one. PAGE ONE.
"No matter how selfish I want I am."
"Do you think that less of me?"
And so on... A LOT of them.
Now, the story... For starters, Fabble (Yes, Fabble) describes herself as a walking, talking cliché more than once. I agree. This whole thing is such a big fat sappy cliché.
And the stereotypes. O. M. G.
Let's start by jealousy being so hawt. Are you for real? Mad jealousy IS NOT HOT. Tossing things because he found out you were talking on the phone with other guy? NOT COOL. Not to mention that guy being your little brother. But of course, no one shall dare ask.
Someone forcefull and possesive? NOT COOL. That sort of relationship is not sane. Putting this sort of macho stereotype out there as the standard example of a hot, great guy is sick. You should not want someone like that in your life. Or should I say "Taking control of your life"? Of course, if this is what you feel you need, that's your own prob.
And the barely contained anger? This sort of characters are always so full of it and I'm so tired of this, is this really how you would want your daughter to think? Your sister? Yourself? Letting a guy toss a girl around because he's mad at the world and getting it out on her because, "duh, he needs somewhere to put all that anger" is wrong on so many levels.
And then she goes all "Even though he's taking all his anger and turmoil out on me, this has to be good for him, right?" Wrong. He needs therapy, anger control management, and maybe even a hitman to kill his incredibly stupidly clichéd fucked up stepmother, not shake you and barely contain his anger. And you need to run. But of course, doom will come if they are apart for longer than a couple of hours, and if they spend a day withouth some hawt sex, brace yourselfs. UGH.
I considered titling this review: "Sex fixes it all." Because that's sort of the message this book sends, yes, I get it, I knew how this book was rated concerning that, but my... it bordered on nonsensical. Bad news, sex. Good news, sex. Someone was sad, sex. Someone was happy, sex. Walk, sex. Talk, sex. Someone dies, sex. Someone cries, sex. UGH. There has to be a limit. Oh, and let's not forget the stereotypical 'physical perfection' of both "perfectly round", "incredibly large", and always so very... skilled. My eye-rolling went to saiyan level thanks to this book.
Anyways, I don't really think I need to prove my point further, but let's just finish this up with some lovely quotes.
"All those clichés you read about in books and see on TV or movies, that's me. I am a walking cliché." Yes, you are. So is your boyfriend and your entire world.
"They literally bat their fake eyelashes at the guys and everything. It's pathetic, what attention whores they are." You are such a charming girl.

"Is there really a possibility he's a virgin? I know they're out there, but I never figured Drew Callahan for one." Oh, get away from that alien race of people. BEWARE! THERE MIGHT BE VIRGINS AROUND!
Gah, this was stressing. I think there's nonexisting to none chance of me continuing this series. I can betcha it'll end like Beautiful Disaster. But this was way worse.

"The course of true love never did run smooth" - William Shakespeare.
I can't quite comprehend how the author managed to fit so much into this short emotional read. Full of secrets and heartache this is so much more than just a story of love, more like a journey of two lost hearts.
From the start I knew that I would love Fable the relationship with her younger brother and the life she finds herself in shows a strength and courage, she is so likeable and genuine everything in me wanted her to have her long awaited HEA.
The author leads you right into the darkness that surrounds drew the main male lead in the story and instantly the story grabbed me waiting for the HEA from chapter one. Drew is surprisingly vulnerable from the start, my Heart broke learning more of his story.
This story was witty, charming and unputdownable, it also leaves the door wide open for book two.
"Alive. Cherished. Loved."
4 marshmallow Stars.

I do not like this book.
It is good that the author brings out the issue of child molestation to surface. However she did not give enough respect on executing it. With such sensitive topic, it needs to be address more sensitive.
At the end, it was Drew who have to come to Fable to rescue her. Why is that? It is Drew who needs to be saving. I also do not like how the ending of it. It left everything hanging. And what about Adele?? She got away just like that??
I think with such sensitive topic, this book should be made into drama angst romance story. Not comedy.

One Week Girlfriend knocked me off my feet! I totally fell in love with this emotional and heart-wrenching story!
Drew pays Fable to be his fake girlfriend for the week of Thanksgiving, a week he must spend at home. He needs Fable for protection but as a reader you don’t know why. Fable realizes that something really awful has happened to him to damage him so, and she’s determined to stick by his side and help him through.
Monica Murphy managed to write a story made me swoon, ache and enrage me at the same time!! It’s one of those reads you don’t want to put down! And, oh, that ending! It’s not a cliff but it’s definitely NOT where I want things to end. I’m writing this itching to click over to purchase and load Second Chance Boyfriend so I can get my Drew and Fable HEA! *runs off to buy*

Das maiores surpresas deste ano, não estava mesmo nada à espera de gostar tanto!
Adorei completamente esta estória e admito que não estava nada à espera de me envolver tanto com estas personagens. A Fable não me irritou nem um bocadinho, adorei a sua personalidade, a sua vontade de vencer na vida e dar uma vida melhor ao seu irmão, Owen. Esta personagem será protagonista do 4º livro e estou em pulgas para o ler.
O Drew acabou por ser uma personagem muito mais complexa que a Fable, vivendo um trauma que não consegue superar psicologicamente. O leitor é logo convidado a tentar descobrir qual é o segredo que Drew esconde e o porquê de ele ser assim e eu meio que adivinhei o que tinha acontecido, embora aquela revelação final tenha-me chocado, não estava nada à espera.
A Adele é a grande antagonista da estória e é-o de uma forma muito boa, não consigo ter pena dela,
O livro é pequeno sim mas tem uma aura de romance e drama que nos envolve completamente deixando-nos num misto de emoções à medida que vamos percorrendo as páginas de "Uma semana para te amar."

Ich liebe Monica Murphys Bücher. Kann man einfach mal an einem Abend verschlingen so ein Teil. Sie schreibt aber einfach so schön. Gefühlvoll und trotzdem sexy. Tolle Charaktere, beide Protagonisten sehr sympathisch. Klar wie immer ziemlich viel Drama, Young Adult halt... Aber alles in allem eine super tolle leichte Geschichte für zwischendurch :)

Me ha gustado mucho. La verdad se me ocurren miles de palabras groseras para decirle a Adele y solo espero que en la segunda parte no salga tanto. Si no, podría cometer asesinato imaginario... muuuuuuy sangriento. ¡Me encantaron los protagonistas! Y aunque es un libro cortito y con final abierto es más un 3.5 que 3. Por cierto, todos los clichés a lo Pretty woman... bueno, me encantaron Hahaha

ONE WEEK GIRLFRIED is a beautiful story that revolves around drew and fable ...
two lost souls broken in their own way..afraid to trust,...love...loose and be loved.
the story starts out predictably,with the young rich troubled hero hiring the poorly deprived ,overtime working heroine to play the role of the one week girlfriend with all deals and feeling drawn up to the golden rule thou shall not fall in love. when its EXACTLY what they end up finding themselves doing anyway....
drew and fable played out the story beautifully,and i enjoyed the way the plot complicated on the way to the end and the way the characters stayed realistic through out it all. even though this book isn't an overall emotional and dark angst filled, it had a reliable back story and suprising past that unfounds towards the bittersweet end....
MARSHMALLOW LOVE ....only they could ever make it SOUND so much sweeter. =)
recommended TO : anybody in need for a good old sweet and short love story , highly recommend as a light afternoon or evening read, with easy story and good writing to tally with.
and yes i'll be reading the sequel...most defiantly :)

4 FLUFFY MARSHMALLOW SHAPED STARS!
I couldn't help rounding this debut novel up to four stars, simply because of the steam factor and the over-the-top angst and drama. So, here's what I pictured:
Drew --
He's considered the rich, golden boy, but he has skeletons in his closet, and demons that haunt him. He needs Fable more than he thinks.
& Fable --
She's the "town slut" - but not really. She feels empty and lost and tired all the time, but she's strong & beautiful. Maybe Fable & Drew will fill each others' emptiness. Maybe Drew will appreciate her.
Their steamy make-out sessions --
Again, but in the shower --
The cute bits --
The angry bits --
The sad bits --
But wait, there's hope --

- I was impressed with the story for a debut novel!
- The steam factor = turned ON & UP.
- I figured out the "twist" earlier on in the story, but still, when everything was revealed, I was no less repulsed, angry, and shaking with rage.
- Intense, over-the-top drama with a lot of angst, while taking "family dysfunction" to whole 'nother level.
- Finished in one setting, two and a half hours, tops.
- I'm actually really looking forward the sequel! Drew better WORK to get Fable back!
- Finally, I really liked Fable's relationship with her little brother, Owen. Very realistic, natural, and sweet :)

Wow what was this????Amazing this book blew my mind!!!!
This book start with Drew who want to hire Fable to pretend to be his girlfriend to get his parents off his back..At first Fable is not interested in entertaining Drew's offer. Well at least not until he names the amount he is willing to pay her!!There is no way she can turn this down when she is struggling to make ends meet as it is. But Fable is no fool. She knows early on there is more going on than Drew is willing to disclose. And she is okay with that...for now.

Drew and Fable were complimented each other. Knowing that they were both somehow fucked up in life, they were both bound to end up together. Being the only ones who can understand each other.
Fable is the lead female character,she is strong and not a whining virgin. I love that she is sassy with a backbone. I love that she is the one that is strong over the big hunky jock that is Drew Callahan. So unexpected.
Drew...is so fucking hot!!!!I am in love with him!!!!He is so surprised by Fable and all that she can give him its touching. Not many young male lead characters grasp the need for this.
The sex scenes was so hot and yummy :) !!!!
What can I say about the end????I NEED THE SECOND BOOK RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!

É um romance muito fofo e cheio de histórias não contadas, nomeadamente da parte do Drew. Não estava, sinceramente, à espera de gostar tanto. Comprei-o porque estava em promoção e como já tinha lido algumas opiniões positivas, porque não? O único senão é que é pequenino! Lê-se num ápice e acabamos por querer mais.

Most people know this about me but I don't read the book blurbs or reviews before I read a book. I just look at how many stars my friends are giving the book. So, I was not prepared for this to have a dark underlining feel to it. Such a taboo topic

Drew hires Fable to be his girlfriend for one week. She is his "shield" against his family during Thanksgiving week.
They come up with a code word- Marshmallow when they need saving.
I'm thankful book 2 comes out very soon (April 2nd) because we are left with: M-A-R-S-H-M-A-L-L-O-W!

Book one has a cliffhanger. Book two concludes their story. Book three and four are spinoffs.

I buddy read this book with Elena :]
I should have read this ages ago. The writing style is really good and easy to read, and the romance is as fluffy as marshmallows. Marshmallow cuteness! If you're looking for a go - to NA book, give this one a try.
Drew Callahan, a rich, attractive football player hired Fable Maguire to be his one week girlfriend for Thanksgiving. Fable is the breadwinner of her family and takes the opportunity since her mom can't do a better job and she wants to provide a good life for her little brother. Drew knows that his family wouldn't like her because she has a bad reputation but there's more to that and Fable sensed Drew is hiding a deep, dark secret that makes him imperfect.
The plot twist is predictable. Though I made the right guess about Drew's secret, my heart still cracks a little for him [I loathe her step-mother with burning passion]. I love how Fable comforts him through his difficult times. She's caring and straightforward. I just adore these two characters and I'm continuing this series.

Thank god I waited to read the first book until the second one came out. Otherwise I'd be

In a desperate attempt to deal with the nightmares that plague him with an upcoming trip to his childhood home for Thanksgiving, he approaches Fable, a girl he doesn't know but has a reputation that fits his means, with a proposition. He will pay her $3,000 to pretend to be his girldriend for a week and go with him back home.
Fable is a girl that is dealing with her own demons. She takes care of her 13 year old brother because her mother is an alcoholic. Desperate to make ends meet, she agrees to Drew's proposition.
In the week that follows, relationships change, feelings grow, and secrets are revealed. And something that was only supposed to be pretend, turns into something very very real.
This book was an emotional roller coaster for me. Drew is such a tortured soul, it hurt my heart.
10% into the book I had a feeling about what his secret might be.
66% it only got worse
and when we finally find out about the whole thing

Even though I had a pretty good idea what would happen, it didn't make it any less of a gut-wrenching revelation.
This book deals with a subject that is not typically touched from quite this angle
I was enthralled with the story from the very first page and could.not.put.it.down until the last. It was emotional, dark, gritty. The relationship that develops between Drew and Fable didn't seem forced or far fetched- it was beautiful to read.
An emotionally beautiful story about pain, nightmares, forgiveness, and tragedy.
Starting the 2nd book right now. Can't wait!
