Lucas went out the house. "So... What are you?" he asked, looking at her. He'd earlier seen her fangs.
"It's my job as a shadowhunter to protect you," he said, finally looking up. "And that is what I'm going to do," he said, determined.

Alex looked at Lucas, she smiled wickedly at him and showed he fangs again," What do you think? I'm half vampire and half witch". Alex didn't really talk about herself much, she didn't like to. "Are you just a shadow hunter?". Amelia didn't understand him.
"One minute your acting like a hero and the next you're being an ass hole", she laughed to herself, shaking her head.
"Yep, a boring old shadowhunter. It's fascinating, I'm meeting many witches right now. So, do you have any special powers?" he asked, curiously.
"Do you think this is easy for me? You suddenly waltz in and destroy everything normal to me. First I thought you were a normal mundane. And now you're a witch suddenly!" he exclaimed.

Alex looked to him with her eyebrow raised," Being a shadow hunter isn't boring". She didnt know why she was trying to reassure him. "Yeah, I can do spells and read the future".
Amelia walked closer to him,"You're the one who took me in, Derrek". She rubbed her forehead and then sighed," I'm sorry, it has been hectic, for you and for everyone. I don't want to be the reason you're unhappy or miserable". She couldn't blame him for feeling like that.

"I'm not unhappy or miserable just stressed. I shouldn't be letting this out on you. I volunteered to help you," he reassured her.

Alex laughed and shook her head," I need my cards, I can't tell you exactly what you want or what will happen". She looked at Lucas and said," Have you ever encountered a half vampire half witch?". Amelia laughed," Are we really going to be polite to each other now?". She looked at him, for quite a while until she said," You're so confusing. You're up, you're down. Isn't there a middle?".
"Nope, you're the first," he said. "Have you ever met any other creatures like you?"
"Not really, there's just up, so I think I'll stay up for now," he smiled. "Yes we can be polite and act like normal people."

Amelia laughed and shook her head," Stupid shadow hunter", she muttered with a smile. She pushed his chest and walked in front of him, then she turned back to him and said," Don't have another hissy fit like that again".
"I don't know should we go back in or wait here?" he asked, looking at her. She was seriously pretty, prettier than any girl she ever saw.
"No promises," he teased, playfully elbowing her. "Should we go outside to Lucas and Alex. I wouldn't want to interrupt there flirting."

She caught Lucas staring and gave him a raised eyebrow and smirk," What?". Amelia nodded and grinned," Tell me about it". She had forgotten that she had the diary in her hand. Suddenly she heard footsteps up the stairs and heard," Hello, Amelia?".

Amelia placed her hand on his chest and nodded hurriedly," Go, hide in my closet!". Maybe her cousin wouldn't freak out so much. She looked at Derrek and then at the door.
"Of course not, why would I," he said, smiling sheepishly. "So... Um, should we go in?" He stuttered, nervously.
"Fine," he grumbled, dejectedly. He quickly hid in her closet. This situation reminds me of one of those mundane movies, he thought.

Alex looked down at the ground and smiled to herself, she nodded," Yeah lets go in". She walked up to the porch and entered the house. "Amelia wh-". Her cousin came in, looking at letters in his hands. He had dark brown red hair that went below his ears, softly and naturally curled. He had emerald green eyes and an ivory complexion. He was a little bit taller than Amelia. Amelia looked at him and smiled forcefully," Hey, um I really need to go".
They entered the house. "Hey Amelie me and Derek have to go back to the institute and pack so we'll meet you guys later," he called, walking up the stairs to Amelia's room.

Alex looked from the boy to Amelia and back and forth. She rolled her eyes and then said," Yeah, we're all friends of Amelia's". She smiled forcefully and tried to look friendly. Amelia pushed her lips together, trying not to smile or even smirk at Derrek slapping Lucas. She looked at Jake and said," I need to go, tell your mom I'm sleeping at Alex's house, okay?". Jake was still looking confused but he looked back at Amelia and nodded slowly," Surree".
Amelia smiled, she grabbed her bag, got a few items of clothing and looked at jake with a genuine smile. She hugged him tight and kissed his cheek," Bye, kid".

Derek just rolled his eyes at him. Lucas sometimes acted like a kid but he didn't realize it. He looked at Amelia she saw her hugging her cousin. She probably knew she wouldn't see him for a long time. "You ready?"

Alex left the room silently and waited downstairs, she didn't like seeing other people say goodbye to their family. What? Yeah she acted like a bitch but she still had emotions. Amelia looked at Jake with a gentle smile and then nodded when she looked at Derrek," Yeah". Amelia started to walk away but she stopped and then said," I love you kid, tell aunt Jen I love her too". Jakes forehead creased but he nodded and said," Sure. I love you too".
Amelia didnt say or do anything else, she walked out and shut the door behind her.
She quickly walked down the stairs and then looked at Alex," Lets go". Before she knew it they were out of the house.
"Me and Derek have to go home and pack our things, we'll meet you at Alex's," Lucas said, looking at Alex, she looked kind of sad. He wanted to know why.
Amelia nodded, she looked at Alex, trying to see if she would oppose or something. Alex looked at Lucas and then at Amelia, she smiled gently and said," Lets go". She had her car just a few houses away. Amelia smiled at the boys and started to walk beside Alex.

((Yeah sure)) Alex was in her room packing her stuff hastily, she wanted to get going already! She looked at the clock and thought about why the boys hadn't come yet.

Amelia finally heard the doorbell she got up quickly and saw that it was Derrek and Lucas. She opened the door and looked at the time, she looked back at them and said," Come on in".
Alex heard the door bell. She grabbed her bag filled with weapons and her bag of clothing and went to the living room.
"Nice of you guys to finally join us", she said.
"We're not late, are we?" Lucas asked, frowning. He was sure they'd left the house in time. So they couldn't be late, right?
Alex made a face and shook her head," You aren't, I just really want to go already". She wasn't excited or anything, more like nervous. She just wanted to get out of here. She wanted to get her job done.
"You missed us already?" Lucas smirked, entering the house. "Nice place you have," he remarked, looking around. It was a veeeeeeerry nice place.
Alex looked at him with a raised eyebrow," You wish". She got her bags and chucked them to her door. She placed a hand on her hip and looked at her watch," Is everyone ready?". Amelia rolled her eyes at Lucas and then looked at Alex, she got up and nodded,"Yep, lets do this". Amelia smirked to herself and then got her bag too.

She shook her head and looked down. She also got her bag and started to walk out.

"Here," he said, handing her a helmet. He swung his leg over the bike and put the key into the ignition. The engine gave a loud roar. "Hop on," he said, pulling his helmet on.

Alex removed his hands from her hips and rolled her eyes playfully. She pushed his chest slightly and said," You are way too full of yourself". But she liked it, even though she would never admit that to him. Amelia nodded and then said," Sure, one minute". She quickly put her bag in the back of the car, Alex and Lucas hadnt even noticed of course. She walked back to him and put on the helmet," This helmet is really heavy!", she exclaimed. She then sat on the bike and hesitantly wrapped her arms around Derreks waist.
"Me? Full of my self? As if," he teased, rolling his eyes. She was way out of league but it didn't hurt to try. He liked her genuinenly, even if it didn't seem like it.
"Hold on tight," he called, over the engine. He raced off straight past Alex and Lucas who didn't seem to notice. He loved riding his bike it made him feel free. He went even faster, passing cars.

Alex stopped and looked at him, she chuckled. She then looked around and noticed Amelia and Derrek were no longer there.

"Urm, the other two have gone", she said weirdly.
Amelia laughed in delight as she felt the wind and saw the passing cars, she loved it.
She still held on to Derrek, in fact she held onto him tighter, she didn't want to fall off or something. "Woooo!", Amelia cheered, she loved this feeling of freedom.
"I think they went ahead without telling us. It's going to be hard to catch up Derek rides like a maniac," he said, rolling his eyes. "We should hurry." He went into the car and buckeled up.
Derek chuckled when he heard Amelia screaming. Most people screamed in fear when they rode on his bike but Amelia was different, she was actually happy about this. "We're here," he said, cutting the engine. They had arrived at the private airport.

Alex nodded and made her way into the car, the drivers side obviously. She hated not driving. She looked at Lucas and then thought, how could we not have noticed? She turned on the engine and drove as fast as she could, skilfully and swiftly. Amelia got off of the bike and took the helmet off, flipping her hair back and grinning.
"That was awesome!", she exclaimed. She then looked at Derrek jokingly and said," I'm definitely going to get a bike now, and I'd be better at driving it then you".
