Suddenly Amelia's eyes widened," A diary! Yes! My mother gave me her diary and money in her will!". Then she looked at him and said," It's at my house though". She got up and stood above him, she gave him a look of determination and ordered," We have to get to my house and get that diary, it must have clues or something!"((It's okay))
He rolled his eyes but also got up, he had the feeling that she was bipolar. It was bizarre how fast she changed her emotions. "Then, let's go. Should we take Lucas with us?"
Amelia started to think about where she had put it at home and how they would get it without actually causing a disturbance. She looked at Derrek and shrugged," Whatever, it doesn't matter. We need to be home before my aunt is".
"Then we have to hurry," he said, going back into the institute.
Amelia watched him walk into the institute, she followed behind him and thought about what the hell was going on. She looked at Derreks back and then stopped. She turned the other way and started to run, she found an exit and as soon as she did. She ran out. She saw the forest and stared to run through it, trying to find a street.
Derek looked back not seeing Amelia anywhere, he went back into the garden. When he didn't see her there he cursed under his breath and ran to the other exit, which led to the woods. He screamed her name over and over running around trying to find her. When I find her I'm going to strangle her, he thought annoyed.
Amelia stopped running, she heard her name being called by Derrek. She needed to do this on her own, she couldn't attract anymore attention. If what they said was true about her mother she didn't need anymore attention drawn to her than this. She ran forward but saw Derreks back, she gasped to herself, making her cheeks flare slightly. She stepped back into the bush and stayed down.

Derek turned around he was sure he'd heard something. He quietly crept to the place. "Amelia, come out, come out, wherever you are," he taunted. That girl was soooo agrravating, why did she have to run away? "She's not here," he mumbled. I have to look somewhere else," he said, slowly walking away. Hoping she would fall for it.

Amelia's eyes widened at his voice and what he said. He sounded so haunting and creepy.She heard say that she wasnt there. She sighed in relief, her heartbeat slowed down and became steady. Finally she got up from the bush, and walked out, but she was not looking.
"Got you," he muttered, quickly throwing her over his shoulder. He knew she'd fall or it, she had lived with mundanes all her life. So she of course acted like them.
"God damn it!", she shouted. She sighed and banged her head on his back, "I need to do this myself, you'll just be a distraction". She needed to find out about her mother, not them. If her mother truly was someone it was better they left her alone to do it, not bringing so much attention to the situation.
"Stupid mundane", she muttered to herself.

"Tell me how are you going to find her? Are you just going to read her diary and figure out where she is?" he asked. "You can't defend yourself against demons, you'll probably die while looking for her, that's why you need me. You need someone with you who can protect you," he said, walking back to the institute.
Amelia sighed in defeat, he was right, but she didnt need to tell him that. "I don't need to have tons of people looking for her and protecting me. She's my mother, I wanted to find her and just be with her", she sighed. She lifted her head up, looking around and looking at the back of Derreks blonde head. "Can you put me down? I'm not going to run", she said softly.
"Fine," he muttered, putting her down. "Let's make a deal you let me and Lucas help you find your mother and afterwards, you won't see me ever again," he said, looking down at her.
Amelia bit her lip and made a thinking face," I won't ever see you or anything to do with shadow hunters, understand?". She looked at him and nodded her head," Okay, deal". She started walking, she was nervous and all together excited.
They entered the institute, he called Lucas and explained the whole situation. Lucas agreed and they went out the institute. "Where do you live?" Derek asked, Amelia.

Amelia nodded her head and started to walk, she made her way through the forest, getting to an alley way. Amelia looked at the two of them: Derrek and Lucas. She looked ahead again and thought to herself: Why are they helping me? What's in it for them?
They were now at the edge of the forest. Derek saw a many apartment complexes. "Do you live here?" Derek asked, looking around.

The street was lively with many little kids running around. One word to describe the street was green. Everywhere were trees. He could see her live in the street. "Which house is yours?" he asked.
Amelia looked forward and smiled, she nodded to the house at the end and said," That one". It was a lovely house, two floors, white and a porch that spread across the first floor. She ran to it and went up to the porch, she opened the door, her aunt always left the door open, and peeked inside. She looked at Lucas and Derrek," Come on in".
They followed her inside. Derek was impressed by the house, he wanted to be a architect when he was a kid. This was probably his dream house. "Where's the diary?" he asked, snapping out his daze.
"Upstairs, follow me", Amelia made her way up the stairs, a row of rooms and a bathroom. She walked into her spacious room but suddenly gasped.Alex sat in the girls room, fiddling with her knife and lying on the girls bed. She was reading Isabelle's diary when suddenly a girl and two boys came into the room. She sat up, flipped her hair back and crossed her left leg over the other. She smirked and demanded," Who are you?".
Derek, quickly drew out his stele, stepping in front of Amelia.
Lucas walked in front of both of them trying to stay calm. "Derek and Lucas Skyler," he said, gesturing to him and his brother. "This is Amelia. Now may I ask who you are?" The girl was pretty after all this he'd get her to go out with him.

Amelia's forehead creased, she was pissed and annoyed and confused. This girl just welcomed herself into her house and her room! "Who do you think you are?!".
Alex got up from the bed, she placed her hand on her hip and looked over all of them. Nothing but takes. "I'm Alex and I'm here for Isabelle's diary", she looked over at the boy who was called Lucas. She smirked to herself and thought of exactly how she could break him.
"What are you doing with the diary?" Derek asked, taking a threatening step forward. "You have trespassed into this house, leave immediately," he said.
Alex sighed impatiently," Yes", she said sarcastically," I feel very threatened right now". She gave him a straight face and then looked over at his brother Lucas," Train him please". Alex looked around for an escape, the girls bedroom window was open.
Amelia could see Alex's eyes wondering swiftly, barely noticeable. Amelia walked away from Derreks protective arm and walked to her window, she shut it and stood to look at Alex.
"Isabelle is my mother".
Derek, had had enough of this he motioned for Lucas to corner her from the right side and he from the left. They did so slowly backing her into a corner. "I'll ask you one last time," he growled. "What do you need the diary for?"
Alex was not bothered, she knew what they were doing, backing her into a corner. "You've judged me too quickly", she smirked. She looked down with a smirk and looked at the two boys. She then looked at the girl Amelia, she did look like Isabelle. Alex slowly placed her hand behind her back, getting her swift and sharp knife out but keeping it behind her back. She had the diary in her other hand, she looked at Isabelle's daughter and said," Girl, do you want to find your mother?".
Amelia looked at the girl and nodded," I do".
"And we're going to help her find her," Derek interrupted. "Now give me the diary," he growled, longing at her.
Alex was getting impatient. She quickly moved, she pushed her forearm into Derreks neck, causing him to gasp for air and lose concentration. She then got low and swiftly dragged her foot across the floor to knock Lucas to the ground by losing his balance. She got to Amelia and placed the knife on her throat, Alex held her shoulders and looked at the guys.
"How simple".
I've had enough, Lucas thought, throwing a dagger at her, it grazed her cheek. It was enough to distract, Derek hurled herself at her, somehow freeing Amelia. Lucas twisted Alex's arm, if she moved her arm would break. "Do you give up?" he asked, annoyed. Who did the girl think she was? She was getting on his nerves.
Alex had her other arm free, she elbowed Lucas in the stomach and hissed at him. Her fangs came out and she had an angry look on her face. Amelia literally couldn't take this anymore, she rolled her eyes and yelled,"Enough!". She was shocked herself at how angry and demanding she sounded. She looked at all three of them and yelled," What the hell is wrong with you people?! For heavens sake". She grabbed the diary out of Alex's hand and looked at all of them.
"We're trying to protect you from the physcho who broke into your house and put a knife to your neck," Derek exclaimed. "And we don't even get a thank you. I knew you were ungrateful," he said to her, angrily. They were risking their lives for her and she was screaming at them!
Amelia looked over at Derrek and gave him a vicious look," I didnt ask you to! You were the one who offered to protect me and then leave me alone. You are risking your own life, I didnt ask you to". She didnt understand him! One minute he was being nice the next he was being a jerk! Alex's eyebrow raised, she leaned to Lucas and whispered," What's up with these two?".
"Fine, if you end up dead, don't blame!" he shouted, glaring at her. "You know what? It would be better if you ended up dead!" He instantly regretted saying it but he couldn't take it back anymore.
"I'm not sure, I think they have a love/hate relationship. You know the ones they have in mundane movies," he whispered back.

Amelia gave him a look of saddened shock, she let out one of those small breathless gasps. She didn't say anything to him, but she looked at him for a while. She suddenly turned to Alex and said," I need to find my mother, what's your reason for finding the diary?". Alex nodded to Lucas' comment. Then she looked at Amelia and said," My boss, he's a friend of your mothers, he wants to find her as well. He found out that she was alive a long time ago, he just never knew where to look. Now that he knows about you, he knows it will be easier to find her".
"Did you find anything in the diary?" Lucas asked. He realized that he was still holding her arm. "Sorry," he sheepishly, stepping away from her.
Alex looked at her arm and then put her knife away, she put it in her knee high boots and looked at Amelia, she was warming up to this girl. Alex looked at Lucas and said," The last thing I read was that she was in France, it was a year ago but she could have easily moved there".
"Does this mean we're going to France?" Lucas asked. "Not to burst your bubble but my french isn't that good. Or acn you speak french?" he asked, raising his eyebrow.
Alex looked at him and asked," Excuse me? We?". She didnt know that suddenly she was going to have company. Amelia looked at Alex and said," Yeah, we. All of us are trying to find her, why not find her together?". The least they could do was join up in numbers and if anything was a threat then they could do something.
"Think about it, it would be much easier finding her. We could split up," Lucas explained. "So is it okay, if we join you?" he asked Alex.
Alex bit her lip anxiously, she looked at Lucas with her arms crossed and then looked over at Amelia. It wasn't fair to her if she said no. "Fine", she said," You can tag along. I have a private plan taking us tonight. If you're not ready and on time I will leave". She couldn't waste any time.
Amelia nodded," I promise we'll be ready and we'll be on time". Amelia was determined to do this. She looked at Derrek emptily and said," You don't need to come if you don't want to".
"If Lucas is going, I'm going," he grumbled, not meeting her gaze.

Amelia stood with her arms crossed, she looked down because she couldn't meet his eyes or even looked at his face. "Why are you even here if you don't want to be, Derrek?", she asked seriously.
