TheDistortedBliss O.O I did not even know it was becoming a movie!
What does everyone think about the series and about it becoming a movie??

Playing Luce is Addison Timlin
And Daniel will be Jeremy Irvine

Kathy ♡ Holy shiz when were they making a movie for this book? I don't know why but I always pictured Alex Pettyfer as Daniel O.o

TheDistortedBliss I don't know I just follow Lauren Kate on Facebook and BAM she says it is official and the movie will be out in 2014!!!!

Rachael Yup I saw that too. I can't wait, this is one of my fave love stories. I just hope they don't ruin it.

Rachael Jeremy Irvine... a very good choice, I think. Can't wait to see who'll play Cam.

Caitlin I can't believe its going to be a movie.! So excited. A bit disappointed with Luce's character but hopefully they edge her out and dye her hair. Jeremy Irvine seems like a good choice for Daniel. Hopefully they pick the right person for cam.

Krissie I just finished reading the books; I didn't know they were making the first into a movie! That should be interesting. I always pictured Lucy Hale as Luce. No offense to the handsome actor but I kind of pictured Daniel to be, well, more gorgeous. *_* There's just something off about Jeremy's features to me... The entire Fallen series isn't one of my favorites by far, but I always like to see how the books I read transition into film, so I'll probably go see it.

Bring on the actor for Cam!

Jordan I didn't know it was a movie!!! OMG yay! The guy that plays Daniel is cute!

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Cool, I hope the movie is going to be better then the books because they suck;)!!

Annie Yay! Awesome! I cant wait to see it!

Miriam The guy who plays Cam better be hot and have all that bad-boy goodness. He's one of my favourite characters.

Wow, I agree completely.
But I think Addison Timlin will look good as Luce. Just how well can she act?

Stéphanie oh my god! I absolutely love jeremy irvine! this is going to be epic!

TheDistortedBliss Lachlan wrote: "Cool, I hope the movie is going to be better then the books because they suck;)!!"

So agree ^.^

I agree, this series is not the best but I am rather excited to see how the movies come out..

message 16: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella I can't comprehend how this is going to made into a film. One, because I haven't met a single person in real life who's read it. So that's just odd. And also I don't think it's a very good story. It was slow and uninteresting in book form, so how much worse is it going to be on the big screen?

Rachael There are so many books I have read and loved that no one I know have read that you can't really guage popularity by it... lets face it, everyone I know read 50 shades and yet I couldn't read a chapter without wanting to scratch my own eyes out!

I for one can't wait for this book to be a film. but at same time I know there are a lot a people that will feel the same..... Its marmite! you either love it or hate it. I love it.

message 18: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella But you can gauge popularity by that? Even if you read and loved a book, if not very many other people have read it, it's still not a "popular" book. My point was basically that I find it surprising that it's received a movie deal, since typically the decision of whether or not to make a book into a movie is based off of hype. The Fallen series is not very "popular", not in terms of its quality but in terms of the number who are fans. Especially when compared to the other books that have been made into movies lately. It definitely has a devoted fanbase, but the size of it does not seem to be substantial.

message 19: by Rachael (last edited Aug 26, 2013 02:18PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rachael I don't know anyone thats read City of Bones. I don't know anyone that has read The Host. I don't know anyone that has read Warm bodies. I don't know anyone that has read Beautiful creatures. What I am saying is that there must be reason enough to make this book into a film. There are enough people out there, that you don't know, that love this book and can't wait for it to be made into a film. what I am saying is, is that you can't gauge a books popularity on whether you know people who have read it, because if that was so, according to my friends, non of the above films would have been made... I'm not
disregarding your personal opinion on this book, but merely stating that it is
loved enough to have been bought and made into a movie... by other readers.

I do understand your point, but I never saw any hype for City of Bones, outside of goodreads, or anyother book I mentioned, outside of goodreads, and goodreads is the only place I've ever seen any hype for Fallen... I think if you are surrounded by people who enjoy the same books as you, and then this book comes along that no one you know personally has liked, then it may be a shock. But I assure you we're here, the fans, and we are ecstatic lol

message 20: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella That is a valid point, but maybe I had not worded what I meant correctly... Rather than saying I don't know anyone who has read Fallen, maybe I should have said I'd never even heard of the book before. I was going through the library, saw it on the shelf, and picked it up. It had never even passed over my radar before that day, neither from my friends nor the internet (even Goodreads!). And I hear about a lot of books on the internet. Not all of them are ones I typically like, either, so Fallen's genre and subject matter wouldn't come into play there. Most of the other books you listed (The Host and Warm Bodies, in particular) I had heard of plenty before the whole bit with the movies came about. I do get what you are saying, but I never said the fanbase does not exist! Obviously they are those who ares fans and love the books, but the entire basis of my argument is that the size of the fanbase is absolutely minuscule (I do not meant this in an insulting way!) in comparison to those for other books-turned-movies. And this is coming from more than just the people I know in real life. I have scoured the internet and found very few "fan-related" things (websites, wiki sites, etc) in regards to Fallen, and I find it difficult to come across fans on Goodreads, except for when I stumble across these kinds of conversations. It is simply a comparison, not a discreditation of the books or the fanbase.

Actually, your point about never seeing any hype over Fallen outside of Goodreads essentially proves my point, haha. I'm a bit surprised you haven't seen hype for the other series/books outside of Goodreads, that is quite unusual. City of Bones, The Host, Insurgent, The Book Thief, all the books that are upcoming movies or recently released movies have had huge hype outside of Goodreads. I've seen it on all sorts of websites. But Fallen, I have not.

But alas, I'm getting long-winded here. I was simply making a comparison.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood mmm intersting people they picked for Luce and Danile. makes we wonder who their going to pick for Cam..

Rachael Haha ok, maybe we both have a point.... maybe ;)

I usually only find information on series if I have hunted them on their websites, followed them on twitter or liked them on Facebook. Insurgent and the book thief? I'm sure I saw the book thief advertised but apart from that I don't think I've heard of them. I tend to stumble on books and if I'm lucky I find a series i love. I found Fallen on the shelf and loved the cover so I bought it and of course found one of my faves.

message 23: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella Oops wait, I meant Divergent, not Insurgent! Haha, getting ahead of myself here. And yeah, I've heard of The Book Thief quite a lot. I think more people have started reading it in the past year or two, but I could be wrong. Ah, well. Hopefully the movie lives up to your expectations!

Rachael Ohhhh I hope so lol although they never ever do! Maybe you may enjoy the movie... will you be watching when its released?

Alice noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Jeremy Irvine cannot be Daniel noooooo

message 26: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella Not when it's in theaters, but maybe afterwards once it's more widely released and if I can get my hands on it easily. Even if I'm not a big fan of a book I sometimes like to watch the movie, just to see what it's like.

Rachael Makes sense, Curiosity wins out...

Crystal omgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg i didnt even know they gnna have a movie im so excited!!!!!!!!!! :D at least this guy is cutee :) lol they culd have oicked sumone better but im fine with the cast :)

Caitlin Fallen was my absolute favourite series until the end of Rapture because I'd read a bunch of other books while waiting for it to come out so I really wasn't happy with that book but FALLEN THE MOVIE!!!!!! OMG!!!!

Akriti Omg..... M so gonna watch this movie....... I waited so long for this.........

Rin they better stick to the book a lot better than they did for the mortal insturments book 1!!

OH NO :( great.. sadly my brain can't remember everything from the first book. that sucks :/ why can't they just make movies like the book? is it so hard to do v.v

ikr?? its so aggrivating! like with harry potter? they stuck with the book to pretty much EVERY DETAIL. yes, they had to leave some stuff out or it was going to be 5 hours long for each movie, but they stuck right with the plot the whole time. lets just say, if you're one of the people that get easily mad when movies don't stick with books, you're going to want to throw popcorn everywhere and go hunt down the director/producer and show them how to make a movie that's based on a book

message 37: by Mish (new) - rated it 3 stars

Mish I would not watch this movie. I would rather claw my eyes out using a spoon...

Islam Ahmed Mish wrote: "I would not watch this movie. I would rather claw my eyes out using a spoon..."

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I recognize that line from one of the Mortal Instruments books?

And for my say on the recently casted, I imagined Luce to look quite different, and as for Daniel, I think I pictured Alex Pettyfer for Daniel but whatever Jeremey is too...

bipasha kaya scodelario would make a nice luce. and brant daughtery for either miles or cam.
this movie will probably neutralize my brain cells but i may see it, not for luce or daniel, but for cam/miles.
even the percy jackson movie would be better than this one but i would like to see kate's version of "mysterious reclusive boys with halos and high cheekbones, mnamed daniel". hopefully luce will not rip my brains out with her miserable whining.
book is gross.

Rachael I see we have a fallen lover LOL

Brant Daughtery looks awesome for the role of Cam... lools like a total bad boy!

message 41: by Bria (new) - rated it 4 stars

Bria I LOVE Jeremy Irvine. He is on of my favorite actors, and i can literally see him playing almost every one one of my book heroes. He is going to be sensational.
But I do admit, I've always thought Alex Pettyfer perfect for any hot blonde book guys.

message 42: by Bria (new) - rated it 4 stars

Bria Brant Daughtery looks great too!

This is te official cast for the movie as far as I know: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1564777/

Chloe Bettin Does anyone know the approximate date of when it might be released? I can't wait for the movie! Hopefully it's as good as the series.

Crystal 2014 idk what month though

message 46: by Jane (new) - rated it 4 stars

message 47: by Dima (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dima Sharif Can I just say it's about fucking time they made it into a movie, and that JEREMY AS DANIEL HOLY FUCK. HE IS SO HOTT. and he was incredible in the movie now is good. IM TOO EXCITED

Samantha Long I think that they picked the perfect people. I can't wait to find out who they pick for Cam!

Samantha Gee Does anyone know when this film will be out?
