I'm new here, but I like to find undiscovered authors, so I like e-books. I just finished Alora, by Tamie Dearen. I loved it! I don't know how to put up a picture. I found it for free on Smashwords. They have a big sale right now. I got quite a few free books. And a lot of them are 50% off.

Armageddon and the 4th Timeline by Don Mardak is a thrilling ride from the first page. This science fiction novel combines time travel, spiritual themes, a fascinating mix of characters and modern intrigue to create an unputtable down novel.

We meet the CIA Director, Scott Cunningham, a former Navy SEAL, and his Assistant Lori Colbert, addressing a meeting after a terrible terrorists attacks. We also meet husband and wife Kathy and Eric who are in Lhasa, Tibet, on a spiritual quest. Through Eric's time travel, both worlds intersect. Mardak's premise throughout the novel is that there "is a spiritual universe, and mankind has the ability to rise into a higher level of consciousness where all conflicts can be resolved peacefully without resorting to wars, or threatening a nuclear holocaust.”

I am currently reading the "Pendergast" series by Preston & Child. While technically tagged as mystery or adventure, there is a small element of SF included. It reminds me ( in several ways other than detail) of the "Doc Savage" series from many, many moons ago.

I'm reading . It's the first Discworld book I've read but definitely not the last. Enjoying it. Pratchett's got a lovely, moralistic outlook on life. He'd make the perfect grandad.

Warlord of Mars, by Boroughs. Actually re-reading it. I lost my original MMP during a move (when my 2nd wife threw me out back in the early 70's), so this time I'm reading the free Kindle version from Project Gutenberg.

Not as exciting as the first book in the series (Princes of Mars). More of a travelog as the hero, John Carter, chases after the bad guys who have kidnapped his wife and are going to do unspeakable things to her, but never seem to get around to it, even when they have the time.

Still, I love getting back into the old style of writing of Burroughs' time. Lots of words -- even in the middle of a fight. Kinda fun to read again with a new perspective.

I've heard only good things about The Tale of Atlantis. Adventure, mythological characters, and Atlantis. Sigh! Its kept me awake till very, very late :)

The opening lines were great.

I tend to read more than one book at a time because I get bored easily. However, I don't read much fiction so the stories don't really get jumbled.

I'm currently reading, Genius Intelligence: Secret Techniques and Technologies to Increase IQ "Genius Intelligence" for a review as well as Words without Walls: Creative Writing in Alternative Spaces "Words Without Walls" and 1984 "!984"

I just finished The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business "The Power of Habit" and though some of the dories were cute, I found the over all basis a bit repetitive and bland.

Well i'm sure that i won't be the only one to say this but i am still and will probably always be reading The Silmarillion, it is hard to get through that one. I am also always reading comic, new ones if i can afford them, but always back issues, my favorites are Batman: The Long Halloween and its follow up Batman: Dark Victory, always good to reread those but some that i have recently finished would be Boneshaker a steampunk zombie story set in the mid to late 1800s, i reread Shadow Hunter in honor of the up coming movie, i'm so stoked for that, but eBook wise, it would have to be RoChe Montoya, her books are moderately priced, which is why i love the eBook and Out of Darkness Rising which i actually got when it was free on a promotion from smashwords.

Just finished reading First Chosen #1 by Gallowglas. It was interesting, but not a stand alone. I don't like to be obliged to read the entire series to get something out of a book. Thinking of my next Sci-fi/Fantasy book, but still can't decide. In the meantime I'll be reading (completely non sci-fi/fan related) Virginia Wolf's a room for one's own.
