Suggested reading schedule
As this is a "relaxed" buddy read, we won't have a daily schedule of reading or set DQs. However, below is a suggested break-up of the book to indicate where to pause your reading and provide comments, thoughts and/or questions.
November 10 Start reading!
November 12 - pause to discuss Chapters 1-2 (pages 1-56)
November 14 - pause to discuss Chapters 3-5 (pages 57-160)
November 16 - pause to discuss Chapters 6-8 (pages 161-end)
Note: Page numbers are based on this version of the book, so use the chapter numbers if you have a different version
Obviously, feel free to comment at any point, but remember to use spoiler tags where you are reading ahead of the above schedule

Sure, dates are all open atm. I haven't made a discussion thread yet, as I was waiting to see if The Ocean at the End of the Lane gets nominated as BOM in October before setting up the threads

:) Well, if ya'll would quit choosing books from my to be read list, I wouldn't have to join so many ;-) Of course, I also need to have goals and timelines or I don't read nearly as quickly or as much as I'd like too. :)

LMBO! Really.

I cheated and reread this one for the October Tower Team challenge. It was even better than I remembered.

I missed Ocean at the End of the Lane last month, so I'm going to read that one and try to catch up! :P
:D
I have a kindle and hardback version and I think I like the hardback version better as it has illustrations. It will be interesting to see what version everyone gets!

Lol Justin
I had no idea what to expect, but I am sucked in! I will leave my thoughts tomorrow on chapters 1 and 2

About this Buddy Read
A “Relaxed Buddy Read” is similar to our usual “buddy reads” except there are less questions and break points. For example, a book may be split into three sections and those reading the book should pause at the end of the section to answer some discussion questions, make comments, or ask their own questions to other readers
Synopsis
After the grisly murder of his entire family, a toddler wanders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of their own.
Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn't live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack—who has already killed Bod's family . . .
Beloved master storyteller Neil Gaiman returns with a luminous new novel for the audience that embraced his New York Times bestselling modern classic Coraline. Magical, terrifying, and filled with breathtaking adventures, The Graveyard Book is sure to enthrall readers of all ages
