Hey Pat, I am re-reading it right now and I am in chapter two right now. I just skimmed over the previous comments and looking forward to get reaquainted with some of the above mentioned scenes. Can't wait, but I will take my time this time because I usually read very fast and may skip or forget.But then how could I forget how annoying Selena came across to me in the beginning. Don't get me wrong, I like her but I am well and truely on Graces side and think that ones sex life should be private and not talked about very loud in public places (coffee shop and public place/square). How embarrassing for her, I still feel the heat rising up from my neck, I so felt for her. Luckily Selena means Grace well and brings her the man of her life.
it is a favorite series for me and I skimmed during the read a bit. I wish I had the time/energy to do a full re-read of the whole series. I envy everybody that is discovering it for the first time.
Oh I have read a few already twice and there is always something new to find or something that slipped my mind but I remember as soon as I reread it. It is quite good that one doesn't tire of this series.
I just got Fantasy Lover from the library & hope to read it over the weekend. I can't remember if I've read it before or not as its been a couple years since I've read any of these books & the series are all confused in my mind.
Wow I came at the perfect time. I just finished it tonight.
Well peeps, I finished it this morning about 1ish am and I had to laugh. I couldn't remember a few things and it really cracked me up how funny it actually was."my spoon in your jelly jar" - never heard of that one before but it will stick in my head now for the rest of my life.
It is actually a re-read for me and I gave it again 5 stars, so I am still agreeing with myself. I really want to start reading the next one now but unfortunately I have a few "need to read" books right now on my nightstand.

1. That's a tough one as for the first few chapters there are only Grace and Julian and Selena.
I think I like Grace best, because she is not jumping at Julian right away and sticks as much as possible to her rules of getting to know the guy first before going the whole 9 yards. I admire her for that, because I would have jumped him straight away, definitively. Ooops, I am sorry but I am weak when it comes to yummie book characters. ;)
2. Apart from the spoon in the jelly jar I think when Eros tells Grace and Julian how to break the curse in the restaurant. He does have a wicked sense of humor, that little cupid.
3. Jeans are more sexy than shorts. I don't like shorts (tight and short) on men, don't find them very attractive. Either nothing or dressed decently.

My favorite character : That is a hard question to answer. But I think I will choose Julian, how can you not love him: He has been thru so much and is jaded but still at the end sacrifices his happiness for Grace.
Funniest thing in the book: The manner in which Julian called out Eros and Grace's reaction to it.
Should Julian wear short? Um depends on the type of shorts but I love guys in jeans.
As for Julian forgiving his mother, I think he just craved love from her for so long that after he had time to think and the reasons (though selfish as they were) he understood she really did love him in her own way. It was like both were too stubborn to make that extra effort at the time.
Question for all: Overall, as a start to a series how do you think SK did?
Honestly I think she has done awesome, for exception of the last two and I really think that is my fault feeling that way. I am just so used to the New Orleans characters it was hard jumping to a totally different mythology. But I think I might feel differently once I reread the series.
I haven't read the latest books. But I loved how she weaves her world and that you could see the beginnings of it in fantasy lover.
Fantasy Lover is what drew me in so for the exception of Acheron's book I would say its my favorite.
I still haven't brought myself to read Acheron. It's not that I don't want to read it, it's just once I read it it will be over and it will make me sad.
I can understand that, it's a hard one to read anyway.
The first time I read Fantasy Lover, I really didn't see the correlation with the Dark Hunter world. The book introduced you to how petty, jealous, and selfish the gods are and a glimpse of the supernatural world in New Orleans, however nothing of Dark Hunters.After I re-read the book this month, I saw how SK was setting up for Kyrian's book and how Julian and Kyrian would meet again. After understanding the series a better, I think it was a good start to the series.
I want to join in before the end of the month, and can't find my copy anywhere :( I'll head to the library and hope there's a copy there.
I think it was a good set up but i can see what you were saying. If I hadn't know there was others in this series I might have thought the same thing. My niece introduced me to this series.

If you have an ereader, her DH books are still on sale and amount the same price or a little cheaper than you can get a used book store if you can't find it at the library.

I read it second, because I had to do inter-library loan on it. It was nice to see from Julian's perspective whey finding Kyrian again was so important to him. I'm glad Julian pops up occasionally hanging out with Kyrian.
So am I, I love their friendship and continues on after so many years.

I like it when Julian is mentioned with Kyrian later in the series...Go friendship!!
So it was a nice way to pave way for the series....
I read this one pretty late in the series because there was a hot discussion whether it is the first DH book or not. It is not really because no DH appears (apart from that flash moment where Julian thinks he has seen Kyrian in his peripheral vision). I liked it though, it was fun and easy to read. So, I think SK did pretty well. ;)
