angieclique | 558 comments Okay I think I know that book through and through because Kyrian's my number one and I wish so hard to read more about him!! I'm actually on Val's book at the moment so ^^

Vaughn | 2 comments Just finished the second book and it was better than reading it the first time.

angieclique | 558 comments I loved Kyrian's book from the moment I started reading it :)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I like that these guys don't take themselves so seriously, even after all they have been through. I am halfway through and still love re-reading it.

angieclique | 558 comments Same here Manuela :D

Silvia Meadows (smeadows1984) | 12 comments I missed out on this BOTM read, but it's OK. I have read Fantasy Lover twice. I still love it.

This book was the very first book I read of the series. I was introduced to the Dark Hunter world about 5-6 years ago. It was my first Adult Romance book ever. OMG. You have no idea how red my face got throughout the read. This book holds a special place in my heart. I was never a great reader. I never really was interested in books, but this switched my world up-side-down. I have LOVED all of my reads.

As to the questions....

1) Fav. characters - Grace, Julian, and Eros.
2) Funniest thing in book - Grace's and Selena's arguments/convo's. Selena was way out there. She's a great out-of-the-norm sis.
3)Julian should NEVER wear shorts. Tall, sexy guys need to wear the appropriate gear. hehe. Nice fitted black shirt, fitted pants, boots, and a killer belt. lol.
4)Gods will always be gods. Selfish. Julian's mother had the best intentions at heart. I'm glad she made the choice she did. What mother could kill her own son just because she was told to do it? Julian did right to forgive his mother. Was it too quick? Maybe, but it had already been centuries of hating her. It was time to let that go.

SK did an awesome job with Fantasy Lover being her first book. Like I said, that one alone made me an addict!!! =0)

Chelsay (rad_candy) Hiya!
Just finished reading this book and I totally loved it! I cannot wait til the next book! <3

Shannon Can anyone recommend a book like this for me? I don't mean general paranormal romance. Reading tons of those (Kresley Cole, this series etc.), but they usually don't have the element I'm craving after this book.

If you can't recommend anything, could you point me in a direction whereby I may refine the search parameters? GoodReads doesn't seem to allow multiple tags, and the lists just don't help. Please?

I DO want paranormal romance. Specifically, though, I'm craving the savior element. It's the concept of the unlikely female saving the tortured (but strong and chivalrous) male, who doesn't believe he's worth saving (let alone worth loving) and who is resigned to whatever lonely terrible fate he's been cursed with -- with no hope or expectation of rescue or compassion UNTIL the female comes along and, rather than abusing her POWER over the him or simply walking away (both being what he expects), she changes everything to the man's total shock and confusion. She sees what no one else ever has in him, and she does whatever is necessary to save and keep her guy, who will protect and cherish her once freed.

Emotional roller coasters that won't allow one to put the book down. Tear jerkers as long as they have a "Happily Ever After" ending. It can be corny. I don't mind. Suggestions: Slave to be freed, genie in a lamp, man banished somewhere desolate (like a dimension, dungeon, or even another scroll/book)... I'll take any recommendations matching any of the descriptions above if anyone can help me. CAN anyone help me? Pretty please? If you can, please comment back or send me a note. I'm Glitter Spirit as one word and I'm at AL (with an O in the middle). You know the rest. THANK YOU FOR READING THIS FAR!!! :-)

Latoya | 13 comments I would recommend Karen Marie Moning Highlander series. In my opinion it has everything you are looking for. You can read as a series or not.
You will definitely enjoy it.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I second the Highlander series by Moning

Maybe Demonica and/or Lords of Deliverance series by Larissa Ione

Shannon Thanks, guys!! Don't get me wrong... I'm finishing this series too... But I appreciate the more specific recommendations.

You might also like Kenyon's The League series, although its sci-fi romance. I'll give yet another recommendation for the works of Karen Marie Moning. Maybe JR Ward's Fallen Angels and/or Black Dagger Brotherhood series,or Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Shannon,

Not to suggest that you can't receive recommendations from our group about other books you are looking for. But I would suggest checking out what else people are reading threads. That consist of a host of other PNR series that may or may not consist of what you are looking for. This is our BOTM thread meant for related BOTM discussions and not really a recommendation spot.

Shannon I will leave this group with apologies. I did choose it intentionally, because, the book of the month in the thread was the one I was trying to find others like. Going to a generalized thread will nearly guarantee that not all in it have read "Fantasy Lover," therefore, won't be able to tell me what other books may be like it. Anyway, I will definitely cease posting. Peace. I can't believe that's actually a problem - discussing the elements of the book of the month you all read. K.

Shannon Before I leave, thanks to SK. Thanks to all who have discussed the elements of FL I enjoyed so much.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Shannon, I sent you a PM on what I meant when I posted what I did. I would not wish you to leave the group. But if you see fit that is fine as well. I and the other mods would just like to keep the book discussions separate from other rec threads is all. Thanks again.
