Hi Connie, welcome.
Hi Connie, welcome.

Thanks for the welcome. The seaside sounds lovely, I am finishing up a day of reading as Hurricane Dorian has passed over neighbouring province giving us tropical storm weather. High winds and lots of rain.
I am presently reading " In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote and thoroughly enjoying the beautiful writing despite the disturbing happenings. Also reading "Fear Trump in the White House" by Bob Woodward for a local book club, not my normal read. Seems to be a September theme however because just finished "Bad Blood" also written by a journalist about a silicone valley start up, for a digital book club I am part of. Liked that one better.
As well as those two (doing fear as audiobook) I am reading " The Orestian Trilogy" Aeschlyus. I have put Ulysses aside while I read this, which is being read by another GReads group I am in and since it was on my TBR shelf ( My niece just finished an English degree) decided to read it now while I will have support.
And last but not least reading "The Other Boleyn Girl" during lunch breaks at work.
Hello, I'm Cinda from Vancouver, Canada. I read both fiction and nonfiction. Lately, I've been reading books by indigenous Canadian authors, such as Speaking Our Truth: A Journey of Reconciliation by Monique Gray Smith. (That's a book written for middle school children but informative for adults as well. And I edited this post to include the author's name.)

Hi Cinda! I live so close to you in Langley! I have a Canadian book and author on my list for the year, Roughing It in the Bush by Susanna Moodie. Welcome to the group!

You were???? You should have contacted me! We could have seen if we still look the same! ;-)

Yes, but I didn't contact anyone except a local friend plus my family. My mother has vascular dementia so I was trying to keep it simple PLUS we had to spend the night at the Chicago O'Hare airport on the way there so arrived EXHAUSTED :)
BUT, we should meet again for sure--I'll have to contact you here the next time I go because I am not sure if I have all that other info as I don't really use that email anymore.

Nice to meet you! My husband is from NJ, I teach piano but I don't make bracelets. What kind of music to you play?

Welcome Christine! How I envy you: I realy can't do anything practical - let alone artistic! But I do appreciate beautiful things!!!!
And as Leslie was asking, which type of books you read?

Welcome on board Rita! We read a lot of different books in here, so I'm pretty sure you'll find somthing interesting to discuss with us!!!

When I go to Boston I time my visits to get free parking at the public school for kids in wheelchairs, etc, that have a lot of needs. My eldest has Asperger's and also a PDD plus now a few other things, but is physically sound and also intellectually very bright--that said, she can't support herself.
Here is a photo of an angle of the sensory garden/playground that I haven't seen at the school where I park:

NO, sorry, I made the wrong impression-this is where I park :). I help MY daughter who has special needs, I only park here when this school closed. My daughter has burned me out for this stuff!!! ALSO my son has dyslexia and a processing issue (he was in early intervention for a couple of years when little for a few things as well) so I edit all of his college papers and also listen to any fiction he has to write about along with him. BUT I go to Boston because my son commutes there and I give him a ride home on his late night, see his concerts (his dyslexia does NOT hurt his talent in music).

My son's isn't medical, its just certain kinds of learning. He is VERY healthy.

As introduction, my name is Brenda. I hail from the Detroit area of Michigan in the U.S. I am a bit of a Francophile, will read most anything if well written and interesting but lean towards classic lit.
I have recently returned to Goodreads after a many year absence.
I am new to the groups but look forward to reading along and participating in some lively discussion.
Welcome Brenda!
Lucky you that can read in two languages. I'd love to be more proficient in another language a part from English - and my Italian of course! - to read other literature in original!

To describe myself simply, I am not a teacher but a heathen (parodying Robert Frost).

LOL - it just shows how inattentive I have been that I am just seeing your post now, almost 3 weeks after you wrote it! Glad to see you & hope that school & life are treating you well.

My name is Sakshi and I am a poet and author of Loveish. I live in Muscat, Oman with my husband and two kids. I am a SAHM and great at sketching and cooking other than writing. I love the beach and museums, they are just my happy place. I talk a lot more on social media than in my real life.

Welcome Sakshi, lovely to have you here. I'm the same as you, in my real life I'm a lot more quiet
