We have also a discussion for philosophy and religion: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Do give a look if you have some free time. I feel so lonely there. This year I'm reading several books about religion but the discussion isn't very active.

Welcome Janet, I hope you find our group friendly and entertaining (we certainly think it is!)
Hi all, I'm Bookish. I try my best to read across genres although I still have a few blindspots, mysteries being one of them. I love to talk books as I'm sure you all do too :)

A belated welcome to Bookish, Janet, Janet, and everyone I missed during my Goodreads hiatus!
And a very belated welcome to you too Tamara - so good to see you here! I am eager to head down to the poetry section and see what everyone is posting! I used to be very active in that section and hope to be again.

I love Ishiguro!, especially The Remains of the Day, Never Let Me Go, and The Buried Giant. I also read and liked Nocturnes: Five Stories of Music and Nightfall, though not quite as much as the other three.
I find Victoria Schwab very enjoyable as well. I've read more than one of her books.
The others you mention I've heard of but haven't actually read yet.
Another writer I'm fond of in the fantasy area is Neil Gaiman - I prefer the more fanciful stuff like Stardust, The Graveyard Book, and The Ocean at the End of the Lane to the more hard boiled American Gods, but I haven't disliked anything I've read by him.

Hello all! I’m an old user of Goodreads, but haven’t been active for the past couple years while my girls were super small. Now that they’re a little more independent, I plan to up my group participation! My husband and I live in Muskoka, and I work as a librarian. We have two kids, and we all love to read. I’m the biggest reader by far, but I’m sure the girls will catch up soon. I love any and all genres, but I have a soft spot for a good family drama!

True, we met on a homeschool forum and then IRL once :) I was born and raised on the side of the continent where Cleo lives.

Hello, I just joined. I have been on the hunt for a group that allows my love of reading to grow with getting exposed to books I may not have normally read an to have fun while doing it.
Hi everybody! My name is Maja and I am from Denmark. I have loved reading ever since I was a child, I particularly enjoy fantasy and histocial novels. Normally I am a solitary reader, and while I have been a member of Goodreads sinde 2010 I have actually never gotten into groups here. But now I would like to give it a shot because I recently started a blog about books and reading, so I thought this was a great way to get some inspiration, meet some cool people, have someone to talk to about books that aren't scared by how much i talk about books and maybe get some feedback to improve my blog.
Hi Robin!I am also new to the group and just wanted to say hello and welcome!
What kind of books do you normally read?

I used to read a lot of Mary Higgins Clark, Torey Hayden, Kristen Hannah and Sue Grafton. Don't care for romance. Now as I have been in some other groups online and in person I read almost anything. I even enjoy YA as I got hooked trying to get my boys to read. I even read my first Stephen King book11/22/63
Robin wrote: "I used to read a lot of Mary Higgins Clark, Torey Hayden, Kr..."I wasn't really into romance either before I discovered historical romance, that is really my guilty pleasure now. I also enjoy Stephen King, especially Carrie and The Green Mile. YA books are a good read because the stories are usually really good and they are usually not that long or hard, so they are easy to go through and a good way to just turn off and relax.
Hi! My name is Dana, and I'm an English teacher by day and author by night - a bit like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde ;) I got married this June with the love of my life, and we just returned from our long honeymoon! A few days ago, I published my second thriller novel on Amazon, and I hope it goes well :) Looking forward to read more amazing books and perhaps succeed in writing a few of my own <3 The False Mirror: A Female Sleuth Mystery

My reading interests including fiction, historical fiction, non fiction and some memoir. I do not enjoy paranormal, sci fi, dystopia, or scary thrillers.
In the summer, I pick up my pace with reading due to the extreme heat here in FL. In addition to reading, I enjoy swimming in the summer and riding my bicycle in the winter. I am a member of the local Audubon Society and do a lot of volunteer work through my church.
I look forward to being involved with this group and broadening my reading horizons.
