I bumped into this group thanks to..The Perks of Being a Bookworm. :P I'm so glad that we can continue to talk about books together, I enjoyed very much those reading groups made in the last months.

Wow, someone from Iran! You have to forgive my prejudices, but I thought that for women it was not so easy to go in internet and read literature. But I have to admit that all my informations come from Reading Lolita in Tehran

Many people misunderstood about my country and make a horrible and fake picture that will scare others ! But its not so.

Well , what do you want to know about my country ?
Well , generally speaking Languages of Iran consist of :
Persian, Azari, Kurdish,Luri
Baloch, Arabic, Turkish , etc.
Iran has many hand mades which are really worthful for instance :Art:
Calligraphy
Carpet Weaving
Engraving
Metal Work
Painting
Pottery

And thanks Achitophel! Which language dod you udually soeack then? And which is the "official" one, i.e. the one used by the state in schools, court of justice, university, ...
Do you all have to learn coranic arabic?
And what abput your literature? Ehich authors would you recomand us to better understand your country?
