Hello Friends,I write fiction (alas, literary fiction), but I'm interested in books about science, the environment, and history. Sometimes, and obscure fact becomes the nucleus of a story, but more often, I just enjoy learning more about the world. Lately, I've been reading some good books on neuropsychology and archaeology. Just about the only nonfiction subject areas that hold no interest for me are pop psychology and self-improvement.
Right now, I'm trying to dig out my office. I hope I can do more reading in the new year.
Welcome Gloria - whereabbout in Italy are you from? I'm from Perugia! - and Marylee. I'm sure you'll find plenty of discussions to joyin!
Hello I am Aditi. I am from India. I love reading mysteries, thrillers and romcoms. I haven't read non fictions but would love to try them.
Hello, my name is Sugata, from Bangalore, India. I found my interest in reading books (esp. fictions) quite lately, just 2 years back. But someone great once said "it's never too late for anything". So hope to get a good community cooperation from you good people. Open to your suggestions for great titles.
Hello I'm Joe and just a reader like many of you. Please feel free to friend me anytime. Thanks again for adding me to this group.

Glorious place, even if I've never been exactly there: with husband and kids we visited the southern part of Sicily: Pachino, Ragusa, Noto ... Much more to be seen, I know. A good excuse to come back. Have you ever been To Perugia?
Welcome Anny! Tell us something about you: where are you from, what do you like reading...

Welcome Joshua! Glad to have another drama fan in the group -- feel free to share what plays you have been reading in our Drama section:http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...
We are focusing on Irish plays & playwrights just now but we'd be interested in hearing about any plays you might be reading in the general chat about plays thread...
Welcome Joshua! Where in UK do you live? I tought Sixth form students Italian in London - almost 25 years ago now!!! At Grey Coat Hospital in Westminster
Joshua wrote: "Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm sure I'll fit right in at the drama section, as some of my favourite plays are set in Ireland - Riders to the Sea and In the Shadow of the Glen"
Riders to the Sea is a favorite of mine as well, so crushingly affecting!

Julia, your link came up "URL not found" and have deleted your post as all it contained was the link. In any case, I'd prefer you type your introduction rather than link to another site... Sorry if I have misunderstood your post.

Welcome Organ! I'm not quite sure what you mean by "fundamental nationalist." What kind of books do you like to read?

Welcome Mimi! Glad you like my country, even if I have to say here we come from really all over the world. Have a look around and fell like home!

Welcome Mimi! I agree with Laura that our group has members from all across the globe but we are always happy to have another :)
Hello book friends! :) - I'm Patrick from Lafayette, LA. A father of two, my wife and I are great book lovers. Though our little ones keep us very busy we still try to find time for our books. My favorite genres are sci-fi, Victorian classics and non-fiction books on the subject of cinema and film history.
I'm new to GoodReads so I'm still in the process of populating my profile with all me books. :)~
Happy reading everyone.
Hey everyone. I am Zoey from India. I am an engineering student but all I ever do is read novels. XD
I am glad to be in this group. :)
Welcome Patrick and Zoey! I'm an engineer too Zoey, and Patrick, I'm impressed you're trying to back add the books! I was too lazy myself and just add the ones I've read since I joined Goodreads. The thought of trying to add all the old ones is just too daunting! :)
Hope you both enjoy the group!

I have been slowly trying to catalog all my books here (though books I read from the library before I joined GR probably won't make it) but it is time-consuming!
I agree with Leslie, if I had to list all the books I read, I would probably shoot myself. It's really time consuming and what for. I keep adding when I see someone talking about it and I know I read it...:-)
Hello all, thought I'd reintroduce since I've been absent for about a year? Things have gotten mildly crazier around here - Kait's an active toddler, my husband left the military and got a new job in Denver, so we are looking at buying a house and moving. But I seem to have finally found some time to read lately and I've missed book chat.
