Hey Everyone! I have just added myself to this group today. Well, I am an IT engineer, so after 9 hours of sitting infront of screen and managing home, i really want to do something for my own, so I read, and give myself and my passion sometime regularly. My passion for reading, led me to start my own blog for book reviews.
I am hoping I am gonna like it here! :)

Please let us know the link for your blog. I have a blog, too, where I post articles about health and philosophy (I am a doctor): www.shivharsh.com
Thanks.
Dylan wrote: "I'm from Fort Worth, TX and currently living in Brownwood, TX. I love reading all kinds of books!"Hi Dylan!
We have family in Dallas, TX (my sister-in-law).
Read anything about philosophy or medicine (healthcare systems, etc.) lately?
Has anyone read the type of book that makes them sad when it is over? If so, what was the title? I am looking for a good novel.
Greg wrote: "Jennifer, for sure!, most recently Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro."Thanks a lot Greg. I checked it out and it looks awesome.
Hi ! I just joined this group . I'm teenager from Iran . It's been a while that I've started reading in English . Wish everyone luck!
Hey y'all, I'm Beau, I am from Texas, I read just about anything, I have an overflow of books in one of my houses, and that pretty much it.
Hullo, folks. I'm Gavin, I'm from a tiny central american country called Costa Rica. I like to read (duh!) pretty much anything, though I tend to avoid YA. I thankee, sais.
Hi everyone. I love to read a lot and have recently started reviewing. I am open to all kinds of books except those with explicit content, violence or horror in any form (I am honestly scared of too violent or horror stories)You can go through my reviews here devinair_reviews
I also write at times on random topics. Some time in future, I intend to write a book
You can go through my blog here Thoughts
Hi! My name is Nadine, I'm from Germany but I read mostly in English. My main obsession is fantasy, followed by historical fiction and crime novels. I'm horrible at doing book reviews because either I loved a book and then I really cannot be objective about it or I didn't like it and then I probably won't have finished it and won't do a review... ;-)
Morning everyone, I'm Ian, based in North Yorkshire in the UK. Reader and writer with a preference for horror/thriller or the paranormal. I've a blog at http://www.iandmooreauthor.wordpress.com where I review and post about interesting reads and a website at http://www.iandmoore.com My day job sees me trucking up the roads and highways delivering for a major supermarket chain which allows plenty of time for me to think, a wayward imagination then allows me to put it to creative use when I get some free time to myself. Great to see so many readers from all over the world. Hope everyone has a great Monday!
Hi Everyone...I am new to this group. Currently I am reading all of the Little House On the Prairie Books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I am currently reading
. I just finished reading
. I love spending time at my local Library. The only time I don't get there is the Winter Months due to the obvious reasons.
I am living in a Assistant Living place and I have one four-legged child whose name is Railroad. Railroad is a very spoiled Tabby Cat who is a Male. He followed me home one night when I was out walking about 8 years ago during the summer. He was just a baby back than...only a year old and he followed me for 7 blocks all the way to my house. He told me that he wanted to go home with me and that he wanted to live with me for the rest of our lives. I have had him ever since.
I have always been a Avid Reader since I was old enough to read. My girlfriend from my home town and I use to exchange books all of the time when we was in school. I think we read more than did our homework assignments when we was in school.
The only books that I don't like to read are the Romance Books. Those are about the only ones that I can actually say that I won't read. Other books I will read.
I love books like The Mitford Years, Little House On the Prairie, Cozy Mysteries, Adventure Stories, Classics, and books like that. I have three book cases full of books and I have read some books that are in my own library.
Happy Reading Everyone....
I am new to the group, I am here because I would love to discuss books with everyone, then maybe recommend books to each other?
Hi, new here. I can't wait to catalogue the books I've read and find suggested books to read. I have a question. I read a book and can't remember the title or the author. Dahh. It has personal significance to me as I believe I may be related to the author, and the main character. If anyone is willing to help, I would greatly appreciate this as I would like to read the book again.
Author: Female, Canadian, maybe first name is Sarah or Sara
Title: Maybe has name Sarah or Sara or Charlotte
Fiction/non: The book is written about the woman's relative, and filled in with "creative licence", so not sure which F or NF.
Storyline: A young woman leaves Britain because she became pregnant with one of her father's slaves. They travel by ship to an Island in/near Caribbean, however the man dies early after landing. She manages to get onto a ship going north to settle parts of eastern Canada (possibly with James Cook, mid 1700's). She ends up having several husbands that die, several children, I think maybe the last one was Charlotte. She had and ongoing "friendship" with a First Nation Indian. She was the first female in Canada to settle land in her name (because it was her deceased husband's property). She lives into 70's I believe.
Thanks for any help!
Tee

@Linda: I love those books; I've read some of them and kept the asat 4 for a "winter period" - meaning a period when I'll be down and out!
@James: we have plenty of discussions where we talk about books and recomend - or the contrary! - books we've liked to each other. One for all "What have you just read" https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
@Tee: sorry, no idea!

Hello everyone! As a group that cares about reading around the globe, I invite you to sign on in support of universal access to education. Nearly 58 million children ages 6-11 lack access to primary schooling. Join World Education's public letter to the United Nations asking for increased support for improving access to primary education. https://www.change.org/p/support-acce... Thank you!

Hi, my name is Kristin, and I'm from Norway. I don't really like romance and horror, but apart from that I'm pretty open about what I read :) This is also the first time I join a group, so I might be a bit slow to get started here… I am already enjoying the recommendations I get from this group, but I hope I get around to participating more actively as well.

Welcome Beau, Gavin, Devi, Nadine, Ian, Linda, James, Tee, Mega, Kirstin and anyone else who I have missed.
Greetings and salutations. My name is Clay. I currently reside in Houston, TX. At one time, I owed just a couple of thousand books, but downsized and donated the vast majority to a library.
I read a great deal and just about all genres, with the exception of romance novels. Normally, I have two or three books going at a time of different genres. Currently, I am reading "Salamandastron" a novel of Redwall by Brian Jacques and "The Privateersman" by Andrew Wareham.
I joined the club to hopefully find some fellow bibliophiles and a few new authors/books.
