Oh Ellie - it could have been a genuine excuse - another chance?

I've been messed around too much in the past; maybe I've become too hard-hearted as a result but I just can't be bothered if someone can't make the time for me.
Well, I guess it's something only you can decide - I hope Mr Right appears on the scene soon :0)
No, I refuse to accept that - you just need a dating rest that's all.
Aw Ellie that's rubbish - nothing worse than being stuffed around and not knowing where you stand. Hopefully he doesn't try and bug you and you can just let it lie x
This is one of the Kindle Daily Deals today - it looks v good http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Story-Liv...
Morning all! Long day yesterday with two Shakespeare plays to watch. Excellent productions both, full of life, fun and laughter - I think some sections were so funny even the actors on stage were laughing. Pretty sure there were some ad libs along the way but difficult to tell :) If anyone ever tells you Shakespeare has no relevance today, point them in the direction of the Propeller Theatre Company.
I'm so glad you said that Ellie. The Propeller company are coming to either Sunderland or Newcastle in the next few months and I wondered what they were like. I'm tempted now after reading your post.
Laurel, it was A Comedy of Errors and A Midsummer Night's Dream.I'm interested now to see Propeller doing one of the tragedies or histories.
Interesting Kindle Deal alert

The sun is unfortunately not out here. It's grey, miserable and cold and I've realised the clocks got forward tonight so it's also an hour less in bed. Woe is me!
Oh no - I'm sorry Hilary :0( - hope Jimmy cheers you up
It's pretty miserable today as well but I think it's going to change again soon! Have got a (very)rare sunday off work so have made a batch of spiced rhubarb and apple jam to celebrate :)
Yummy - the weather is quite pleasant here - I've spent much of the day sat on our new garden bench reading about the strange and complicated life of Carrington the artist and long time companion to Lytton Strachey. It's a fascinating story but losing the hour has made me very sleepy.
Sounds interesting - the lost hour really threw me as well earlier! Having some serious arguments with the alarm clock before I realised what was going on...
I know you aren't going to believe this but I now accept that either my house has a supernatural visitor, hopefully a fairy rather than a ghost, or I'm losing my marbles. Looking for my paperback edition of Paradise Lost rather than the Kindle version I've been reading, I find it has disappeared. In its place I have found The Naked Civil Servant which I lost recently so comprehensively that I had convinced myself I had left it where I'd bought it and it hadn't even made it home. As I don't have any concrete evidence apart from this that I am becoming deranged, I think I have a fairy visitor with the same eclectic reading habits as myself!
This is all very odd Hilary - at least your visitor seems to return the books eventually! Maybe it's the shade of Samuel Coleridge an indefatigable long term borrower of books or perhaps you do have a Brownie after all - but one that's more interested in reading than house work!
Evening all. Trying to drag myself back into the land of the living after a bout of something akin to flu :-( I have felt so wiped out the last few days. Managed a bit of reading and the occasional post but have spent a lot of the last few days asleep. Today is the first day O have felt something close to human!
You poor thing - I've only had proper flu once and it was horrible - make sure you look after yourself and take things easy for a while longer.
Hope you're feeling better soon Ellie - take care!
@ Hilary - that's really strange but I think it's kind of cool to have such a literate ghost!

@Hilary - I am interested in in the fairy (I would go with that conclusion, believing as I do that a ghost would be sticking around for a something besides reading books) and would like to be apprised of its future reading habits. We know that it has read the first volume (and I am adding it to my TTHBRBAF list; Thought To Have Been Read By A Fairy - a newly added bookshelf in my books) and should the second have been missing long enough to warrant a good fairy going over, I will add Paradise Lost. I am serious, if this recurrs I hope you will let us know.
Hi friends. Sorry about the temporary hiatus - my grandfather passed away early Saturday morning and I'm otherwise occupied. Not much reading going on I'm afraid; The Book Thief seems a little too morbid just now. I hope you are all well and look forward to chats and banter soon x
Look after yourself my dear - I am sending you big hugs xxxxx
Guys....should I have a character called Uriah (considering how well known he is in divergent) and if so should he be the brother of the main character or the sort of friend/lover of the main character
Angela, I missed your post somehow :-( So sorry to hear about your grandfather. Thoughts with you and your family xx
@Gab - don't see why you shouldn't call your character that as long as your story and character are nothing like the Uriah from Divergent. As to whether he should be your main character's brother, friend or lover - I suppose that depends on where you want your story to go so I have no idea - good luck!
Thank you very much lovely ones. I think I'll go check out some of George's diary to cheer myself up... :)xxx
Gibble Gobble Gabble - Do you know this sitewww.youwriteon.com ? It's for unpublished and self-published authors to read and give criticism of each others work. There's also a forum for questions / discussions about writing techniques.
Lee - hope it's OK to put this link - site is Arts Council funded.
Of course it's fine Joy - happy for everyone to post anything they fancy :0)
Perhaps I shouldn't tell you this, but Amazon has a Kindle Spring Sale

Is anyone putting a bet on the national???
I'm sticking a quid on Shakalakaboomboom and another quid on Big Shu - it's the only time I ever bet on the horses.
