I've put the appropriate clause on both authors, but because the first one has a large bio already there you can't see it. Should it be moved to the top of the bio or left at the bottom?

Velma, this thread is for listing authors after they have been separated. Not for requesting that they be disambig'd -- that would be something for one of the "help" threads (or a new thread).

Sandra, I always put it at the very beginning, and italicize.

Then, once it's been done, this thread is only for providing links to the resulting author profiles.

the_cat | 388 comments Velma, if you are asking how to do it yourself, we use the fact that more than 1 space between name and surname of an author result in a different author. As in John^Smith and John^^Smith are different authors. So we edit the author of every single book to match the list we decide to create. Trying to leave number one for the more likely to get new editions because the problem is new books always automatically go to number 1.

Looks like on the book covers he's just known as Robin Williams. I thought we only used the longer name when that was used on at least some of their book covers. Won't adding the middle name mess up people's ability to search for him?
