SOLVED. Humorous book about rodeos possibly by an NPR radio personality [s]

I bought this book about 8-10 years and I believe it had only been written within the last few years. Probably late 90's, very early 2000's. Here's all I remember:

It was supposed to be a funny novel about rodeo stars.
It was relatively short, maybe around 200 pages.
I think that the cover said it was written by an NPR radio personality, but he may have been on another radio station or not even involved in radio at all.
I tried to read it but just couldn't get past the first few pages because literally almost every sentence ended in an exclamation point! It was beyond annoying! It became impossible to not read each sentence without the voice in my head rising at the end in excitement because of the exclamation points! This made the novel almost unbearable to read!

Um, ok, I have to ask! Why do you want this found if it was so annoying?! (Ok, sorry, but I just couldn't help myself. But I agree, the over use of the exclamation point bothers me too. Don't people realize they only get so many for their entire lifetime? And if they use them all up for something silly, then they have to be dull and blaise forever after?)
