This is a thread for mythologies surrounding all sorts of mythological creatures ranging from Dragons to Djinns and everything in between

Together, the jinn, humans and angels make up the three sapient creations of God. The Qur'an mentions that the jinn are made of a smokeless and "scorching fire",[1] but also physical in nature, being able to interact physically with people and objects and likewise be acted upon.[clarification needed][2] Like human beings, the jinn can also be good, evil, or neutrally benevolent and hence have freewill like humans and unlike angels. I chose to blend a djinn and a fire elemental in a short i did this summer. I was intrigued by the lore of a djinn having a body like smoke...

I grew up with djinn mythologies in South Asia and I have written a couple of stories featuring them because they are so fascinating.

While a lot of people equate djinns to the Qur'an, the mythology actually existed in pre-Islamic times in the Middle East and parts of Africa. They are very much nature spirits -- they can create sandstorms, travel through the air, and are often associated with waters and oceans (as well as other elements).
