I thought is was the House of Night series, but now I've read one even worse: The Goddess Test. My absolute DISGUST at that 'story' cannot be expressed. Just. I can't even. Seriously guys, help me. I think it killed my brain.
Sorry for being so melodramatic, but I just finished reading it and have to try and get it all out of my system. Erase it from my memory and regrow the brain cells that were ruthlessly murdered while reading.

How do you NOT like those books!?!?!? I could understand Fallen, though.

Firstly, no two readers can agree on the worst books they've ever read. Those are best-selling books but that doesn't mean that everyone will like them.
Also, if you want to know why I didn't like City of bones, The fault in our stars and Mockingjay, you can read my reviews-
My review of The fault in our stars
My review of Mockingjay
My review of City of Bones
And Red Solo Cup has put my thoughts about Hush-Hush well enough. Mary Sues and boy-stalking-girl-behaviour puts me off while reading. The same applies for Fallen.
I HATED Marked so much!!! Fallen was pretty okay, but I liked it coming down to the ending. Torment and Passion were both boring as hell. Rapture was pretty good as the final book of a series.

Anything at all by James Patterson. His writing is so bad it makes me angry. His teenaged characters talk NOTHING like normal teenagers...gah!Also probably City o/ Bones. It was a good book in general, I guess, just not really my type. (It sounds like I'm talking about a breakup...:))

YESSSS. That and The Hunger Games series. It was just too-- I don't know, I just didn't like it.

I loved Before I Fall. I understand it's dark and might not be your cup of tea, but...still. It had a huge effect on me. I cried for hours after finishing it.

I just don't like the characters. They are all really mean for my taste. Sure the storyline is really interesting, it just really makes me angry. I guess some of the stuff is just life, but I read kind of to get out of life, not into high school drama. It just wasn't what I expected.
Just a friendly reminder that books that you don't understand or that make your skin crawl are not necessarily bad books.

Finally someone else who realizes that!

I did
Me too
Whoa, I'm shocked most people didn't like Marked. I enjoy the series, but I stopped at Burned and didn't come back. It was starting to get quite boring ^^; I also tried giving Twilight a shot, but I couldn't focus on the events and immediately returned it to my cousin. I also had Eve and Adam and my interest just fell flat. I have also tried reading 'Undead' and I was pretty disappointed at the near end and ending. I have not finished 'Anna and the French Kiss' but I slowly lost interest in a few pages.
The Sky Is Everywhere North of Beautiful Wintergirls
Couldn't even finish these (except Wintergirls, which I had to read for school)

*Edit: I totally went on a rant, sorry lol =_=
I agree with you 100% about all three of the books you mentioned especially what you said about Divergent. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but my gosh! Divergent is so overhyped. I get that there are elements in it that are kind of trendy and appeal to a large audience right now, and I'm not being a snobby-anti-mainstream-uppity-bupitty nor am I trying to put anyone down for liking the book. After all, I was really interested in it for the same reasons as anyone else: the dystopian angle, the Harry Potter-eqsue housing system, the Mad Max style punk angle, having "tougher" female character who is not a sweet person deep down, etc. But the story telling and the world-building and characterization is irritating and - at best - just so very AVERAGE for a YA. It blows my mind that so many people think of this book as better then THG or that it is the best YA book in recent times.
I read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell right after Divergent and - different genres aside - the quality between both books was like night and day. One was a masterfully yet, effortlessly woven story with characters that made you believe they were made of flesh and blood...and the other story had little of these qualities. However, I'm NOT AT ALL complaining about Movie-Four because he is finnneee. Just saying~ Actually the film looks okay because we don't have to be directly inside Tris's annoying head.

Exactly!! Well said, thank you.

Ughhhh...I read The Boy who sneaks in my bedroom window and I had great expectations about this book, But...ughhhh...
It's sucks.
Ready or Not by: Meg Cabotmaybe the Fallen series. I've only read the first book (quite quickly actually), but I couldn't get into like I thought I would.
As Simple As Snow by Gregory Galloway. The narrator is a big bore. The mystery of the missing girl is never solved. Apparently, the author doesn't understand the concept of a mystery novel.I also didn't like Ash by Malinda Lo. Most of the characters weren't interesting and one of the love interest are just there. He didn't do much. Beautifully written but easily one of the worst Cinderella adaptations.
I didn't hate this book, but I wash't impressed. I heard so many great reviews and when I finally read it I just was like "OK well that wasn't very good"
I would say Hatchet for me. I could predict all the things that would happen and it was confusing until the real thing happened. I was only interested for a chapter.
Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth PfefferI apologize if anyone here loves this book, but never have I despised the characters of a story more than in this horrible book. I could go on for hours.
Beautiful CreaturesI started reading in 2011 and haven't even finished it. I never abandon a book halfway through it, but I just couldn't make myself read it. It was just boring, completely boring. Maybe it gets better later, but it just didn't do it for me.
(I'd like to point out that despite the fact I haven't read Harry Potter it must be pretty good since I found it nowhere on this list or that people who read the Hunger Games didnt read Harry Potter and vice versa) Id like to say that The worst book I ever READ was Out of My Mind. Now I'm not sure if that's really considered YA but the worst YA book is Mockingjay. I hated these books both for the exact same reason! The end. I CAN'T STRESS IT ENOUGH HOW MUCH I HATED THE ENDING!!!! But the worst book I read PART OF is The Girl Of Fire and Thorns. I got ten pages into it and nearly passed out. Now, if you like books about royalty and kingdoms, I highly recommend it. But I am not one of those people. I eventually had to beg someone to lend me their copy of a Star Wars book so I had something to read. And it was a million times better.
The Penalty and The Rule of Claw.I couldn't even finish these books and that's hard for me to do. Their plots were a mess and uninteresting.
Natalie wrote: "I'm pretty much the only one, but I HATED The Perks of Being a Wallflower...I didn't like the writing style and I just found it disturbing for some reason. Charlie really creeps me out. Honestly, I..."I didn't HATE it, but I totally see where you're coming from. I felt the same, but maybe my expectations were just way too high because of all the hype...
Ysabel by Guy Gavriel Kay.The worst book ever. The history was somewhat wrong and way to over exaggerated. It was confusing to follow, extremely slow and just simply boring to read. Even if you like the historical fantasy genre.
The worst books I have ever read were: 1) Twilight by Stephanie Meyers2) Wake by Amanda Hocking
3) Skinned by Robin Wasserman
4) Marked by P.C Cast
The worst books/series, according to my reading list:Weak/Lousy plot, Whiny heroine:
Love Triangle:
Confusing and endless:
Funny and interesting, but I didn't get the point:
Great characters, but confusing:
What was this anyway?
Whiny heroine, weak/lousy plot, mushy:
14-Year-Old girls really think this way?
The authors did a great job, writing these stories, but they didn't reach me.
I don't read much YA. I liked Divergent, but hated Insurgent. It just seemed way drawn out and every chapter seemed to be just like the one before it. Took me months to read it. City Of Bones was awful as well.
After the Fear by Rosanne Rivers, I thought it was too implausible, the characters had no depth, the story was clunky...just eurghh!
"Gem X" I strongly disliked this book super boring the story line sucked. "Allegiant" was another one I couldn't capture my attention. I loved the first two book so much, so the last one was a HUGE disappointment.
I didn't like The Fault In Our Stars (thought it was kind of cliche), Go Ask Alice (Didn't seem all that realistic, to be honest. But what do I know?), or this one called Enclave.
