Kelci | 2 comments I remember reading this about three or four years ago and it was in the YA section in the library. I think it's a gameshow that they enter and the winner gets an education? Takes place in a snowy setting but past that I can't remember much more. Male lead character I believe.

oliviasbooks | 189 comments Maybe Epic (Epic #1) by Conor Kostick ? I don't remember whether the education thing fits, but I think the climate was rather bleak and cold.

Edit: It does fit: "Everyone plays. If you win, you have the chance to go to university, get more supplies for your community, and fulfill your dreams."

I agree Olivia. The Norse version of Hell always struck me as particularly nasty--snow, ice, freezing winds. . . At least in the Christian Hell you can be warm.

Congrats Kelci on finding your book. I've shelved it for you and moved this down to Solved also.
