Lisa Kay, what a wonderful way to honor your mother, and share with us the things she most loved and enjoyed. My mom's been gone for eight years (I can't believe it's been that long) and I never stop missing her. It's always wonderful to find ways to keep their presence alive.
I too lost my mum, 11 years ago, and it would of been her birthday tomorrow. Whilst her birthday is July, she was a Leo, so I'll read a Leo book in remembrance ;)
I think I'll try for 2 - now to look for them!

Member Choosing: I, Lisa Kay , have been a GoodReads member since June, 2009, and a participant of Happily Ever After Café since February, 2011. I’ve been missing my mom a lot lately, and August is her birthday month. So, I’m going to take over this challenge and focus on things she loved.

(4) Road Trip: Mom LOVED to take off every week-end to explore the United States - and go camping. Read a book where the protagonist take a road trip, travels, or goes camping. (5) A Good Horse Race: Mom loved a good horse race. Read a book featuring a race of any kind.
ITEMS: August’s Birthstones are sardonyx and peridot. Its flowers are gladiolus and poppy. Zodiac Signs are Leo - the Lion - or Virgo - the Virgin.
