Bryce even walked like a soldier. His footsteps were broad and firm, and he walked with his chin up despite any inner turmoil he was fighting. But when Julian held his hand, he slowed a little and he seemed more at ease... Although he didn't notice it.

Bryce felt a little more hope having Julian so close without any anger between them. Mayeb things weren't so bad... Somehow only this guy could change Bryce's mood so dramatically.

For the first photo, Bryce just stood there in confusion. What the hell was this? As soon as number two came around, however, his quick mind got into it.
The third was a jumble as Bryce pushed Julian's hand away.
The fourth was snapped as he wrapped his arm in a sudden burst of playfullness around Julian's neck. Hardly like him.

Bryce.didn't even notice that the kiss lasted a little longer than it took for the booth to make their photographs. Then he finally pulled away and averted his eyes nervously, as if waiting to be yelled at.

Bryce glanced over at them, feeling a little better when he saw the pictures. They looked happy... "Yeah." He said, running his gaze over them. "Those are good... I've never been in a photobooth before. That was fun."

Bryce tucked the photostrip into his browned leather wallet and followed him into the café, trying to hide a smile.

Bryce slid into a seat at the table with him, allowing a small, shy kind of smile onto his face. "So... The day hasn't been too bad afterall."

"It's okay." Bryce gave him a forgiving smile and grabbed a pen left on the table by the people before them. He flipped it between his fingers quietly. "I make a lot of mistakes. I should be the one saying sorry."

Bryce stopped and looked at him. "You..." Was this the truth now? "Oh. I didn't know. I thought you were serious." He bit his lip, pausing for a moment. Poor Julian. Bryce couldn't say he didn't know what it felt like, but still. "Why do you want to be straight?" Of course he knew, but everyone had their own reasons, no?

His eyes softened and flicked between Julian's, feeling all the air rush out of him. "You're already doing better," he began quietly. "Just by not being him."
Bryce glanced at the fork, taking in a small breath. "There are many different ways to be... Successful, Julian." He finally said. "One is just to be happy in your own skin."
Bryce shrugged and looked down at the table. "To just be happy with who you are... You're an amazing person, Julian. Everyone can see that except you. It's not better or worse to... to love other guys, it's just who you are. I wouldn't want you to change for the world."

Bryce's ears heated up and he looked over at him. "Yeah," he said quietly. "But there are lots of ways... There's no reason we can't."
Bryce swallowed. All this was nice, but he was still left wondering if it was hypothetical or not. He didn't know if Julian liked him, or if he was simply bipolar. "Uhm..." He cleared his throat. "Would you want to have kids with me? Or are we talking about you and some other guy in the future?" He tried to smile to lighten it up a little.

Bryce was very, oh so still. "With me?" He said, blinking. "You're sure? You're not secretly drunk are you?"

Bryce finally let go and smiled, beginning to flip his pen around his fingers. "I don't know," he said in what he was pretty sure was a sly tone of voice. "I think there's only room for one dad... You're going to have to be the mum."

Bryce hmphed and raised an eyebrow. "Fine then. But I'm not the mum." It was odd to hear him joking on like this... He sighed playfully. "I guess two dads is all right... I can share."

Bryce's face screwed up for a brief moment and he made a sour expression. "Dibs on father's day huh..." He said. "All right. There's nothing wrong with being a mum one day of the year."
Bryce smiled and reached over to catch Julian's arm before he got away. He hugged him close and let out a deep breath. "I love you." It was the first time he had ever said he loved Julian, but now he wondered why he hadn't said them sooner. They felt so perfect.
