There is a lot of info and history that needs to be given out in the book and I really like how it's given at just the right moment so it doesn't seem unnecessary or out of context.
The book flows really well.

I just got to Chapter 10, and i am so in love with it. people were getting annoyed because it was all I talked about at school xD I like hwo there is a lot of background, but it doesn't take away from the overall plot. I understand the profit they could attain from Hallaway's inheritance, but honestly - why don't you just try to play the game it's not like you have no money (like Wade) you offered him 50 million dollars. Chapter 34 (view spoiler)[ We finally learnt hat the reason Hallaway and Og ended their friendship was because they were both in love with Kria, which I kind of suspected from the beginning. The biggest twist was the fact that Aech is a girl, which I definitely didn't expect, and it's sad tot hink that even in the future she felt the need to change her gender and race just so she could live a better life. This novel definitely deals with social problems and is still able to remain an entertaining action filled read. I can't wait to see what happens in the end, but I'm kind of sad it's ending at the same time. (hide spoiler)]

Not only is this an entertaining novel full of adventure, excitment, and a little romance, but this novel also masterfully deals with many social ills that we are experiencing now. In the world Cline has created, everyone is utilizing electronics in order to escape the real world, which has been infected with poverty, pollution, lack of oil/gas, and it's scary to think that this is exactly where we might end up. However, maybe a superhero like Wade Watts will come around and cure all these ills. I reccomend this book to anyone - not only gamers, becuase I am definitely not a gamer. This is one for the books ;)
