Yes! That makes three of us! But you guys are in US servers. :(
I'm up for Perdido Street Station I've always wanted to read it.

Tuesday, January 6, 2015: Firefight (Reckoners Book 2) (I need to read Book 1)
Tuesday, January 13, 2015: The Providence of Fire (Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne Book 2) (I need to read book 1)
Tuesday, February 10, 2015: The Autumn Republic (The Powder Mage Trilogy) (already on calendar)
Tuesday, February 17, 2015: Half the World (Shattered Sea Book 2)
Tuesday, March 31, 2015: The Skull Throne (The Demon Cycle Series Book 4) (I need to read 1-3)
Tuesday, April 7, 2015: The Grace of Kings (The Dandelion Dynasty)
Tuesday, June 2, 2015: The Liar's Key (Red Queen's War)
Tuesday, June 2, 2015: Nemesis Games (The Expanse)
Anyone interested in group reads of any of these, and putting them on the calendar?
For items above where I haven't read previous books in the series I'd be interested in a group read of prior books leading up to the new release.
Any other interesting stuff coming out Jan-June I should look out for?

One series I love and another book Im very interested in

Firefight
The Providence of Fire
Autumn Republic
The following will be ordered a little nearer to the release
Half the World
Nemesis Games
I have not read the Red Queen's War first book yet, but chances are i would be happy to join in with this as well.
I also have a small TBR shelf. Including the Ryira books that i managed to pick up from Audible in the 2-1 deal this week.
I'll definitely be doing:
Firefight
The Providence of Fire
The Autumn Republic
Nemesis Games
I might read:
Half the World
I can add some stuff.

Anyone want to volunteer to lead: The Skull Throne?
So far I see Michael and Mark interested in that one, unless I missed a response.

I am in for demon cycle.
In general? Or in book form? Because I'm not a big sci-fi book reader, but love Sci-Fi TV/Movies.
And I love the Expanse books.
But if you don't like it at all, then maybe it's not for you. But I think you're missing out. They are fun.

I am trying to push myself to read the Expanse books so i can watch the show when it airs.
Its funny that i don't read sci-fi because the first series i every really fell in love with was Dune and I have read all 15+ Books that have come out.
Well Expanse is very different from Dune. This is very light space opera, more akin to say Firefly.

I've had a pretty similar take on it as well. I'm not a huge sci-fi guy but I loved BSG and Firefly and, so far, I've been loving Leviathan Wakes

Feb 10 - Scott Meyer, An Unwelcome Quest
April 7 - Wesley Chu, The Rebirths of Tao
Tao is pre-ordered. I'm happy to discuss that.
Unwelcome Quest will depend if/when I get a review copy. Most likely I'll start that late.

July 7: Anthony Ryan, Queen of Fire

Score! Excited for this one, big time!
Have to apologize to the group on failing with Perdido Street Station. I tried a couple times to start it, but could never get into it.

No apology necessary. Those of us who participated in the group read felt the same way, and probably only finished out of some deeply buried masochistic tendencies. Though I do feel bad for slamming the book so much. I think we mostly agree it would have been a good book if it was several hundred pages shorter.

"Masochistic reading" is a concept that makes me laugh and that I can relate to.

Looks like we've got a funny guy here."
I liked Mirror Empire.

There's 11 books so far, and Ian said yesterday that he'll be writing more.
The world building is fantastic, and there's magic galore as well as some schi-fi elements later on (flying machines and stuff). Also, conflict arises because different people want different things, not because there's an evil witch who's just evil because that's what she does.
Anyone read any of them?
Wow 11 books. Right now I'm overwhelmed with the 4 books I'm supposed to be reading this month. Not to mention how many series I'm in the middle of. Maybe later in the year. I dunno.
The only thing I've read by Ian Irvine was Geomancer, and I didn't like it very much.

Then there's a second set of 4 books, following Tiaan and the people she meets. It's 200 years after the first set, and the world is grim and there's a war on. I'm not sure I would have liked it as much if I hadn't already been sold on the world as a whole by the previous books.
Finally, there's a trilogy following those quartets, where everything changes yet again.
So it wouldn't be 11 books as one long haul, it would rather be 4 + 4 + 3.
I like that format, because at the end of a set you get a sort of ending rather than a cliffhanger. I hate having to wait years for the next instalment of something, I rather have 3 or 4 books published a year apart and then have a break.

Ah. Sounds more like Robin Hobb's Elderling books. There were definitely parts of Geomancer I liked, but the parts I didn't overwhelmed them. It was a book where I wished I liked it better.

I still want to try Elizabeth Bear at some point. Something of hers put her back on my radar again recently, but I cant remember what now, or where.
Depending on when, I might be interested, but I'm probabaly out of any new reads in the next 2-3 months unless I catch up on a few things.

No rush, just sometimes before the end of year.
FWIW, it looks like that's the book I was planning to read. And I moved it up my TBR list to try to remember to read it soon. I'm still not sure why though.
I don't want to think about committing to new books too hard right now. I'm still pretty overwhelmed from December/January and I'm not reading as much as I was last year right now.
It does look like March-May will be kind of open for me (at least based on the current NABCC schedule) so maybe I can work in one/month especially if I do them in audio or something.
