I can be captain if needed. I just now created a spreadsheet to keep track of our team's points, here's the link. Do we want to have a name related to Sydney, something completely separate or just keep the name Sydney by itself? I've been trying to think of some names, but so far I'm not coming up with anything!
That's fine Megan. I would have volunteered but this is my first time. How about Books R Us for a name?
I have participated in every round of this challenge and just love it!That's a cute name!
Last round I made a spreadsheet so we could compile a list of all the books we found that work for the challenge. That way when the WotW & BW were called we could see immediately if we had some that worked. I'm making a spreadsheet for this again, for myself and anyone else on the team that's interested. Just send me a pm and let me know. I can either add you as an editor or you can send me a pm with a list of your books and I can add them. I would need an email address to add you to the list - I'm going to keep it private so only our team can view it.
my email is mrstenikajohnson@gmail.com you can add me as an editor and I will start working on my list tomorrow.
I'm fine with you being captain megan. Tahnks for offering. Cute name idea. My brain can't think up anything today, lol
Love the idea for the spreadsheet - my email is mrebodos@comcast.com If you add me as an editor I can add books this week.
Our first word is called this Friday - yes?
I added you both so you should receive an email with the link. Let me know if didn't receive it and I will send it again :)Yes, this Friday.
Just a quick reminder:The books have to have one of the letters from the WotW in the first letter of the first word of the title (excluding A, An, And & The), the first letter of the series (again excluding A, An, And & The), or any of the first letters of the author's name.
WotW have to be exact, but the BW we have a little flexibility on - we just have to ask Jenne to make sure:)
I informed Jenne about our team name. :)How do we want to select the letters...first come, first pick or rotation? I've only every done it first come, first pick so I'm kind of partial, but I'd be willing to give the other a try if that's what everyone else wants. With first come, first pick we would say all the letters we had for the word/bonus that was called and if there was a certain letter that we really wanted we would say that, but were willing to take another if someone else had nothing else that would work.
I am easy :) doesn't really matter to me I can always find something to read whatever the letter......my TBR list is never ending lol.
Megan - I found some books that work for several words last night. Wasn't sure where you wanted them put on the spreadsheet. I was thinking maybe we could have a list off to the side of books w/author names and what bonus words they would work for. Haven't found all letters yet....
Oh and I usually have a terrible time finding Q if anyone else has one for that word would be great!
Melissa,The way the spreadsheet is set up you put the title, series (if there is one), and author in the first column. Then in the next columns you put your name, genre, and any letters that it works for once you've checked to see which words are in the book - if it has the word quit, but doesn't have Q, U, I, or T as any of the first letters of the title, author, or series it wouldn't work for quit. Again using "quit", if the title, author, or series starts with Q but the book doesn't have the word quit in it don't put Q as a possible letter. After that, you just put a check mark in any of the columns for WotW or BW that apply - just copy one of the check marks to add them. I hope this helps.
I've found five books so far that work for Q and between them cover all the bonuses so this letter isn't a big concern for me. However, I haven't found any that work for U yet - how about you?
I forgot to check on the series names of my books....I'll do that and then add them. I haven't found a U yet but was looking at books I wish to read soon. Will hunt again tonight or tomorrow for the other letters I need to find.
If you are talking about the check marks - I had to ask Megan...put your cursor on one of them and hit control button and c button together to copy it. To paste it you go to box you want and hit control button and v button together and it will appear.
Nika and Jade -we should probably keep searching for an N in case Megan can't find one. So far I haven't had any luck. I will search again on my lunch hour
