Always like it if a review book fits the challenge but it doesn't for this week either so just another one to add to the tottering TBR pile.
I'll stick with the W book then and will read this weekend since I have a busy week ahead next week - son comes back from 2 weeks in Europe, lots of drs appts and tests the next 2 weeks (for all 3 of us) and getting ready to host the 5th annual cousins party from my dad's side of the family.

It definitely sounds like you are going to have a busy, busy week. How old is your son, JoAnne?
He turned 22 in May and graduated from college a few days later. Doesn't start his job until October since he had to take 3 more classes this summer since he'll be working in public accounting. He went to Europe with a college friend from TX. The week before he met up with 5 friends in Chicago where one of them lives then they went to that families lake house in Wisconsin. Rough life!
I got to go to Europe the summer after I graduated from high school. It was an awesome experience :)
Told him this is the time to do it before the real world sets in and he's tied to a desk and limited vacation. He went to Eastern Europe - started in Amsterdam, then joined the tour in Berlin then went to Prague and Vienna and will finish in Budapest before flying home. He went to Italy with us when he was young and Mexico when he graduated HS. We also took him to the Bahamas and many places in the US. He went to Montreal with friends from college after freshman year of college to visit another college friend - they drove there and back.
Finished my book in a few hours - it was that good. Will post later in the week.
Enjoy the weekend all. Happy Reading!

Week 2: View & FootballLetter: V
Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schrieber
Finished: 7/27
Rating: ♥♥♥♥
View: crystal vase blocking my view (pg. 114)
Football: not even a football stadium (pg. 97)
I know it sounds cheesy, but when I got to the end of Vampire Kisses, I wanted more. It moved at a fast past and it was an easy read. There was a lot of foreshadowing and at times predictable, but overall, I thought it a good read. And the ending was unexpected. Vampire Kisses is the beginning of the series and I will go back to read others.
Good grief! I almost forgot to post. This is why I hate waiting. I would rather just post when I'm finished with the book. If someone wants to use my book let them :)
Week 2: VIEWLetter: E
Book: Waking Beauty by E lyse Friedman
Rating: ★★
Read: 7/27/13
Review: Allison Penny is a self-proclaimed, "ugly, fat girl" working a night job cleaning offices and living with a roommate that she finds unbearable. But one morning she wakes up to discover that she is now skinny and beautiful. Her life completely changes, but she discovers beauty comes with its own problems and ultimately, it's what's inside that counts. I've had this book on my bookshelf for ages so I was glad to finally read it. It was pretty bad though and don't recommend it!
WoW:(view - pg.192) "I crossed the street to get a better view."
Bonus word:(football - pg.77): "...the bloated Nikes, the fat and fake gold necklaces, the Starter football jersey......"
Total Points: 3
How do you copy a picture of the book? I tried last week and it wouldn't let me.Will post my review tomorrow.
The easiest way is to click on 'add book/author'. Click on 'Cover' then do a search for your book. Just click on the the cover you want to add. The html will automatically appear in the comment box. There are other ways too and if you would like I can try to instruct you on how to do them also :)
Week 2 Challenge - W in VIEWPoints W = 4 + WOW 1 and Bonus 1 = 6 points
Book: Waking Up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly
Date Read: 7/27/13
Rating: 4 stars
Review: I was hooked into this book immediately and couldn't put it down - I read it in one sitting. Megan and Connor had so much chemistry that they couldn't see it. I loved their kissing rituals and each time they got together they scorched the sheets. The premise was unusual but they made it work - then they didn't - then they did. There was an unexpected happily ever after but I would have loved a little bit more story. One thing though - Megan needs to get new friends!
WOW and Bonus word:
View: He knew because she'd left the containers in plain view on the counter. (Nook page 98)
Football: "Yeah, arts, football, gymnastics, and everything else a little boy or girl could be interested in." (Nook page 55)

Rating: 5 Stars
View: There was a partial view of the ocean... (Location 857)
Football: I was a coach...high school weight training and football. (Location 3479)
Review: I opened this story specifically looking for it to be a usual end of world, brain eating zombies, don't git bit sort of deal but boy I got a huge surprise! I'm sitting here hours later with this story still on my mind. It was so full of heartache and pain but then also renewal and promises of a new beginning for the characters. It has mystery, villains, and things I can't quite describe. Were they zombies? Were they ghosts of the dead or of the living? I'll never tell...partly because I still don't know for sure myself but believe you me there was not a dull moment as we followed Riley on her adventure to a new life. Book two git ready here I come!

Letter: J
Second Honeymoon by J ames Patterson & Howard Roughan
Rating:★★★★
Read: 8/3/13
Review: I've read almost all of James Patterson's books and recently have found them hit or miss. I have to say that this one was a suspenseful and enjoyable read. There are two storylines going on this book. One serial killer is going after newlyweds on their honeymoon and another killer is killing men with the name John O'Hara. Short, suspenseful chapters make this a quick read. I found this to be one of Patterson's better recent releases.
WOTW (jail-pg. 94): "A temporary jail cell."
Bonus (chicken -pg. 285): "I recommend the kung pao chicken."
I just posted my review for the week. I am leaving for a vacation tomorrow morning. I will try to check in on Friday to pick my letter. If I'm not able to, I'll take whatever is left....but I'll try to check in Friday morning.

Week 3 Challenge - A in JAILPoints A = 1 + WOW 1 and Bonus 1 = 3 points
Book: Armed & Fabulous (Lexie Graves Mysteries #1) by Camilla Chafer
Date Read: 8/6 - 8/8/13
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
Playful mystery with romantic overtones throughout. Lexie involved herself in way too much in my opinion and was lucky she didn't get killed. Lily, her best friend, had so many different personas. Adam and Solomon were nice additions to the "team" and both had chemistry with Lexie. Nice ending tied up the loose ends. I look forward to reading books 2 and 3, Who Glares Wins and Command Indecision, respectively. There was a blurb from book 2 at the back of this book that whet my appetite to see what new adventures Lexie gets herself into!.
WOW and Bonus word:
Jail: ...and he wasn't going to jail for the fraud without a payoff awaiting him. (Nook page 603)
Chicken: "Nothing," I said thinking about my mother's roast chicken. "What's happening today?" (Nook page 538)
I picked up so many A books with both words that really held no interest for me at this point. This was part of the first group I had found but wasn't sure I wanted to read a mystery. Glad I did though.
Week 3: Jail & Chicken
Ingenue by Jillian Larkin
Finished: 8/8
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
Jail: she'd actually been in jail (92)
Chicken: How about I bring you some chicken soup (138)
Ingenue is the second installment in the "Flapper Trilogy". In this book the plot thickens and it's a goose-chase around New York. The language remains beautiful and the jazz smooth. Gloria, Clara, Lorraine, are discovering who they really are, and where their loyalties lay. I just love the "Roaring 20's". If you have read Vixen, Ingenue is a must read.
Week 3: Jail & ChickenLetter: L
by Ellie CampbellFinished: 8/8
Rating: 3 Stars
Jail: I don't know how she's going to cope with jail. (Page 303)
Chicken: I'm dishing up a hastily prepared meal of chicken drumsticks... (Page 215)
Review: A witty funny story of a woman who has reached that stage most of us do at some point by feeling unappreciated and don't know what to do with ourself. Toss in a good looking husband who works all the time and postcards addressed to him from another woman who he swears he doesn't know and what a mystery we have to unravel and fun all the way. The story pulled me in from the beginning and I really enjoyed it.
