Oh no... Is Collins that bad an actress? Idk why but I am so obsessed with The mortal instruments. I think it's because reading City of Bones started my love of reading. Every since then, I've always had a book in my hand. City of Ashes is good but the one after that, City of Glass is amazing. It's mostly every tmi fan's favorite book in the series. Keep with the series it gets better!

My favorite five are, PJO, HP, THG, TMI and Divergent. I don't know why HoO comes sixth in my list! :/
What's yours?
Favorite series?! Hmm let's think.... :
1). The Mortal Instruments
2). The Infernal Devices
3). Divergent
4). The Selection
5). Vampire Academy
6). Grisha
7). Lux
8). The Darkest Minds
9). Bloodlines
10). Harry Potter
1). The Mortal Instruments
2). The Infernal Devices
3). Divergent
4). The Selection
5). Vampire Academy
6). Grisha
7). Lux
8). The Darkest Minds
9). Bloodlines
10). Harry Potter

As for Lily, I haven't seen her anything else but all the footage we've gotten from the movie so far looks good so I'd say not to judge until you see the movie. People's skills do improve the longer they do a job.

Harry Potter is the tenth favorite? Unbelievable! :O

I think I was drawn to City of Bones because of the Shadow World and how awesome the shadowhunters are. Those demon fight scenes are the best!

It doesn't really matter. Some people read it in the order that they were published, City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, Clockwork Angel, City of Fallen Angels, Clockwork Prince, City of Lost Souls, Clockwork Princess. I read City of Bones series first. Then I read the Clockwork Books.

1) The film will be nothing like the book
2) The cast is a major let down
3) WTH is up with the flamethrower
3). Yeah I was wondering about that flamethrower thing. I was thinking that it might be a substitute for Isabelle's whip because I don't remember seeing the whip in the trailer.
2). I do not like Bower as Jace. Alex Pettyfer is much hotter and can totally play the arrogant Jace Wayland. Collins seems ok although I wish they would do something about her eyebrows!! I like Gao as Magnus. Simon seems pretty accurate too. Isabelle looks awesome in her shadowhunter gear although she doesn't have that air on supremacy and awesomeness that Isabelle possesses. Alec looks too old for the part. I think that they needed someone with a more delicate, younger face to play the innocent and gentle, hot Alec Lightwood. Valentine, I approve!! Jocelyn is ok, but she and Clary look nothing alike as they are supposed to in TMI. Luke Garroway, YES.
1). It is going to be hard to make the movie as great as the book. I would like to see the physical/visual version of the story that I've only seen in my head. Another perspective would be nice but I'm trying (and failing) not to get my hopes up.

I'm probably the biggest fan of the cast, honestly. I think they're all perfect. Everything I've seen in trailers/interviews tells me that they were the right choices, that something more than physical descriptions went into casting and that's what matters to me. I don't think Alex Pettyfer could have pulled Jace off and I really don't care that he's better looking. I love Jamie and he understands Jace so well, Pettyfer cant act. Not like Jamie can. Plus you can tell that Jamie actually cares about Jace and connects with him, he's getting a TMI tattoo! This whole thing actually means something to him and that's what's important to me.
Sorry I just get super protective of Jamie I guess, knowing how much all this unnecessary and unfounded criticism has actually hurt his feelings. I think people should judge based on his performance and not whether or not he's 'hot' enough for you.
Also, as far as I can tell they're pretty closely following the plot points of the book. Obviously some things will need to be altered/condensed but from what I have seen, it's going to come pretty close. I also have the illustrated movie companion which lays out the whole plot basically and it's really the same as the book.
I thought I saw Isabelle's whip but I wasn't sure. It was silver right? And looked kind of like a snake (in my opinion). I thought they did a pretty good job with the casting. Only time will tell if they made the right choices.

I think people need to have an open mind about the cast, just because they're not exactly how you pictured a character doesn't mean it's the wrong choice. If people are going into seeing it having their minds made up already and being unhappy with the cast then they aren't going to have an enjoyable experience since they're already so filled with negativity.

OMG OMG OMG SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD"
IKR! The first one's SO good! Favourite part?
Climon sounds like a weird fruit. Once you keep reading, you learn that there really is no hope for Climon.
