Love this! I just snagged
for 1.99 which I'm so excited about! Also, bought recently from my local used book store:
and
. I was on vacation last week and made a stop at a business that is going out and also got (I've been on a book buying binge lately I guess! lol)
amongst several others! I have a whole slew of books checked out from the library along with all these recent book purchases. I have no clue how on earth I'll get them all read - but, I'll give it a college try! :)
Oh my gosh....I've been on a bit of a used book kick. I'm actually a bit embarrassed to admit it. I've bought 14 books in the past week and that's not including books on my Kindle. In fairness, I've done very well with prices!! The last one I purchased was The Lifeboat for $3.19 including shipping. I am very excited because I am moving this weekend and it will be delivered to my new house the week after I move in, which will help to make me feel at home. :)
Alicia - That's a great price for The Storyteller! I loved that book. Hope you enjoy it as well. :)
Kristie, what an awesome homewarming gift you got for yourself; books delivered to new front door! Excellent way to start feeling right at home. What a superb idea!

I was super excited to get it! It's 15.99 on all the other sites right now! Also, I can totally relate to buying too many books lately. I've been RIDICULOUS with my book purchases! lol But, like you said, I've been getting great deals and couldn't pass them up. I bought 5 books from one store but they were a buck a piece. :)
Yep, that's what I paid for my trade paperback copy of The Storyteller. What an excellent buy Alycia :-)
Thanks, Cathie! Looking forward to reading it! I had it on hold at the library but eventually cancelled it. The wait was soooo long.

Thanks Cathie! I think so. I'm not a fan of moving, to say the least. So I thought it would be great to have something to look forward to. :)

Books at your door are amazing! Good luck on you move Kristie. You'll have to let me know how Storyteller goes Alycia, I haven't read it yet, but it seemed good. I made sure to preorder
. I am more excited about that book than any others this year. A signed copy went for $400 and was sold within hours . Unfortunately, I just get regular edition. One day, I hope to stalk a book signing of Steven Kings.
Thanks Cherene!
I'm looking forward to Doctor Sleep too. I didn't pre-order it, but I put a hold on it at my library a month or so ago and I'm 30th in line! There's close to 70 holds already. I may break down and buy it anyway.

Look like good choices Sarah.
I think the most recent ebook I purchased was
for $1.99. All about the deals lately. :)

Kristie, good luck with the moving, I totally agree with the previous statements, it is an amazing welcome gift, to get new books delivered at your 'new' door. I think that even putting a new home address on delivery must have been exciting and making more welcome in new house :)Alycia, I'm also curious what's your opinion on Storyteller. I've heard and read really good reviews, but I'm still uncertain whether to read this book.
It seems that you all had a wonderfull purchases. I've recently acquired Valhalla Rising. I went with my kids to the playroom and there were books for an exchange. So now I got this book, and this week I may exchange for something from my personal library. I love this idea :)
I've also got The Presidents Club: Inside the World's Most Exclusive Fraternity as a reward gift for the well-passed exam (my hubby bought it for me :)).
Cherene, thanks for setting this thread. It is an amazing idea. I love to find out about other people's purchases :)
Awww, Anima, what a wonderful gift from your hubby :-). He's a keeper. I've seen really good reviews of that book on PWeekly and The Times. Enjoy reading it.
Thank you Cathie, I've been looking forward to reading it for some time. My hubby is really supportive and he was as happy as me when it turned out that I had passed my exam :). He knows my love of books and fascination with American culture, thus the gift :)
I just purchased

Congrats on passing your exams!!! I meant to tell you that in the other thread! I agree with the other ladies, your hubby sounds like a keeper! Have you ever visited us here in the states? :)
Thank you, Alycia. I haven't got a chance to visit the States, but I hope to do it in not so distant future :)
Anima wrote: "Thank you, Alycia. I haven't got a chance to visit the States, but I hope to do it in not so distant future :)"You're welcome! I'm from Michigan originally, but moved to Tennessee 7 years ago. However, this summer, we are moving back to our home state. Can't wait!!! :) Our country is quite beautiful, wherever you decide to visit...I hope you can do it sooner than later!
That would be definitely an adventure of my life :). I'm a New York crazy, but mainly due to a great literary pictures of this city. I'm from a hectic city myself, but I know that the Big Apple is nothing alike. But to balance this interest I'm eager to see almost every part of the States, as far as I know in Michigan are the Great Lakes, we have a similar county in Poland so I think it would wonderful to sightsee your home state :)
Yes, we're almost an island in Michigan! I miss the water greatly and can't wait to get back to it. The mountains are certainly beautiful in their own right, but I'm definitely a water person. I grew up on Lake Michigan which is in fact really more like an inland sea. So beautiful! Well, anyway, that's enough of my reminiscing for now.... ;)

I am from TN and love love love it there :)
What is your top 3 favourite things about Tennessee ♥Robin♥? (Just in case I ever get the chance to see your part of the world or to know it's "flavour" :-)
Well after living in Nebraska for the last four years which is FLAT...I will have to say the mountains, the southern hospitality, and the food :)
Cathie wrote: "I've heard good things about Tennessee's southern hospitality :-)":) I guess that is why we are also called the Volunteer State LOL
i finished And the Mountains Echoed. It was ok for me.Im currently reading Killing Sarai, and I would love to start Insurgent soon
Stacy - Insurgent is BOTM in September. I know it seems a bit far away, but Allegiant is out in October. I've been told that Insurgent leaves you in a cliffhanger and you can't wait to read Allegiant afterwards. Supposedly it is much easier to wait to read Insurgent. Just putting that out there, in case you want to wait with us. :)
I'm so excited! I got a Barnes & Noble gift card, so I splurged a bit. :D
I just ordered:
&
, which had a long wait list at the library.
Plus, I pre-ordered:
&
for my grandson. We love Pete the Cat! :)
I'm so happy! I was on the wait list at the library for three out of four of my books and they didn't even have the new Pete the Cat book on order yet.
