@Lilac: Since a series title is more or less a part of the title, and if you're lucky it is also printed on the cover anyway, I think that's alright. In fact I might do that myself. Days of the week are hard to come by and Ashley said we're supposed to interpret the tasks ;).
I'm going to try for 10 I think.I was wondering whether Days of Blood & Starlight count for 11. I spy the days of the week task?
Sarah, Mariko, welcome to the challenge!@Sarah:
I can sense that this is going to be the least favourite task. But days are arguably part of the week, so yes, go for it. I've put you down for 11.
@Mariko:
The cover for Warm Bodies is definitely alright. And if Delirium is based on the medical condition, that would be as well :). Are you up to seven then, or is that one of the six?

Thank you for the answer. One of those books would be part of my six... Last question: this is probably a stretch but could The False Prince or The Iron King be under the world leaders category? Again, this is included within my six.
Mariko wrote: "Another question: this is probably a stretch but could The False Prince or The Iron King be under the world leaders category? Again, this is part of my goal for six."Mariko, I think that would be too much of a stretch considering the examples that were given. I hope you can find something for another category.
Would any of
work for #4?Still trying to find options for #8 and #10. I may have to steal from people.
Natalie wrote: "Would any of

Natalie, regarding #4 I think all look good except for Proxy.
Regarding #8: I'll be stealing as well :).
I'm going to try for five (5) for this challenge, I think.Completed!
(5/5)
9. I spy a body of water: ocean, river, lake, etc. (an "ocean")
5. I spy magical beings: witches, wizards, elves, etc. (zombie)
6. I spy animals in the circus: monkeys, elephants, tigers, etc.
2. I spy celestial bodies: Planets, stars, galaxies, etc.
1. I spy elements from the Periodic Table:
Carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, & traces of oxygen, nitrogen and aluminum plus chromium AKA what Razor Wire is made from.

Thanks for the clarification.

Finished my first book yesterday: 3. I spy things related to sports: baseball, basketball, football, etc.
and updated post #9
Completed #12 - Country in Europe - Mariana by Susanna Kearsley. Country in Europe is England and Kindle cover contains a landscape of an English countryside. 3.5 stars. Good fantasy with bits of history thrown in. My only issue was that I felt as if neither the modern or the historical bit was developed fully and the ending just came very suddenly. Worth reading and I look forward to reading another of this author's books.1/12

Good fantasy with bits o..."I've updated your numbers Megan. Glad you liked it; I have Susanna Kearsley on my shelves and not started on it yet, so now I'm looking forward to it :).
Completed #9 - Body of Water - Divergent by Veronica Roth. Body of water is Lake Michigan which is featured on the cover of the book. Really well done and gripping book! The beginning was a bit slow, but I love the way the author developed the characters. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars2/12
I have a question about no. 10. Would a homonym for a month count, e.g, "The March of Time" or "May You Live Long and Prosper"? Or is that too much of a stretch/cheat?
Good going Megan!@Sibyl: Well, this is supposed to be a fun challenge, and if you're absolutely out of options, go for it. However if you have a better option already on your shelves and are cheating your way around that, don't do it. That book wants to be read too :).
Welcome to the challenge, Gecko! All the best - and don't take the weekdays too seriously, no one seems to ;).
Completed #3 - Sports related - The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. Catcher is a baseball term and the book itself references football and fencing, among other sports. The best thing I can say about this book is that it was a quick read. I do not believe I was the intended audience, as I have very little patience for petulant, privileged, angst-ridden teenagers. Not my favorite read and wouldn't recommend to anyone over the age of 15. 1 star.3/12
Completed #11 - Day of the Week - Wife by Wednesday by Catherine Bybee. Fun, light-hearted read. Exactly what I needed tonight. 4 stars4/12

Wow Megan, you're quick. Regan, Joni - welcome to the challenge! Have fun with it!
Joni, I've put you down for all twelve. If you have a different goal, just tell me and I'll change it.
Completed #7 - World Leaders - Leonardo Da Vinci and Niccolo Machiavelli in The Malice of Fortune by Michael Ennis. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect from this book. It seemed a tad unbelievable that the author would be able to twine such notable historical figures as Machiavelli and Da Vinci into a murder mystery set in 1502, and yet he achieved his goal quite well. The writing style sealed the deal for me - it rang very authentically of the time period. Little longwinded in sections and sometimes the plot was sandbagged by the prose but overall, really enjoyable. Definitely worth reading! 4 stars5/12
Completed 2 out of 12
Read 7/17also updated in post #9
Completed #5 - Magical Beings - Vampires/Shape Shifters/Telepaths, Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. Surprisingly entertaining, to the point where I broke my own rule and listened to the audiobook driving back and forth to work and at the house, rather than just while I walked the dog. The narrator was really good too. I thought the vampire sex scenes were a bit more graphic than necessary, but other than that, thoroughly enjoyed the book! Definitely worth reading! 4 stars6/12
