I was going to put this in off topic but I might as well put in General as I suppose it IS pretty on topic.

My question is, as above, how will you celebrate the release of The Doors of Stone? I think I may have to take off 2 or 3 days off work and read the first two books followed by the third. Immerse myself in a little book-bubble!

Unless anyone can suggest some cool other idea. A prayer circle but involving the final book perhaps? lol

Meran I'm not sure yet ;)

I'm likely to read the last novel THEN do a complete re-read so I can then pick up on the clues (I assume) he gave us all along ;)

Oh I've been saving my Vacation days for two years now. LOL.

I have every intention of going to purchase the book as soon as humanly possible, I will wait outside in a line until midnight. Given they have one. Otherwise I intend to be standing at the door to the bookstore when they open so I can rush inside and get my copy. LOL.

I then plan to take a week off and completely immerse myself as said above. I've been enlisted to read it aloud to my friends, since they all audio booked it, which will take a deal longer but I don't even care.

I'll be on the Meran plan.

1) Get the eBook of DOS and read it immediately, screw work.
2) Re-read all 3 again right after finishing DOS paying more attention to things I just learned and how they relate to everything else.
3) Some unknown activity TBD.
4) TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!! HAHAHAHAHA...

oh I gotta have a hard copy. I'm kinda hoping though that eventually he'll release a set where you can buy all three in a fancy little box or something.

Oh man - Ultimate idea - if he does that, he should release them in a box that looks like the Lackless Box...that'd be so crazy awesome.

It'd be even more awesome if it was actually a puzzle box so you couldn't get your books out without solving the puzzle....okay that would take a lot of effort but I'd like it.

message 6: by Meran (new) - added it

Meran AND.. it'd be costly :D

But yes, fun. I'd be up for that ;) and after taking over the world, I'd make everyone else read it, with a test afterwards LOL

Christin (namalia) | 3 comments I'll re-read the other two books first and then I'll probably go crazy reading the third:) haha I can already see it: I'll read the first few hundred pages real fast and when I notice how much I've read already I'll stop and put it down so that it takes longer to finish(lol my logic is that if it takes me longer I will get more out of it.)
So I'll try to think of something else but in the end I'll just pick it up again and repeat that process until I'm done with it.
Is there a release date yet?? I am really hoping that you asked that question because there is and I just missed it:)

I'll download it as soon as it's live, do keyword searches, and post spoilers.

Just kidding.

I'll take a couple weeks to reread the first two without making any notes and take release day off if possible.

Ions download audiobook at midnight. plan out a nice long drive, followed by a nice long walk.

or, assuming it still years out from being published, I almost hope its release coincides with the release of a rather mindless videogame (BorderLands 3 would be amazing to play while finishing this book).
then in the near 30 hours of the book, I'll likely finish my first run through
:-P

I totally missed the 'audio' part of your message on my first read Ions.

I was like - WHY ARE YOU DRIVING AND WALKING WHEN THE BOOK IS OUT lol

message 11: by Ions (new) - added it

Ions LMAO!

I, too, live dangerously

message 12: by Brandon (new)

Brandon | 74 comments I have been listening to them lately at work. I like the voice actor, which makes a big difference, so hopefully it's released the same time. If not I will be spending a Sunday reading it. Can't wait though!

message 13: by Toni (new)

Toni Thomas | 11 comments iPad in hand waiting in line where I pre purchased book. I will have been waiting 4 plus hours and be drunk on wine at the book store. I will download it and pick up my book from new crates. I also will have convinced my friend to drive me home while I read . I might not remember it the next morning, but I will reread again...

Brian Dunne | 5 comments Taking a vacation day, not telling my wife since she wouldn't understand. Will be in line waiting for B&N to open and spend the next 8 hours reading. Then I will come home and tell my wife what an exhausting day it was.

Michael Lavin | 71 comments HAHAHA too funny Brian! im gonna do the Brian Plan!

message 16: by Meran (new) - added it

Meran I'm a hardcopy reader too... can read faster in print, lol

and Brian has a good idea. However, if he's not done by the time he comes home, exactly how will he explain that he's 3/4 the way through the book? I bet she's not a dummy ;)

Amber (ivorydoom) | 1471 comments Mod
Obviously Brian's wife needs to read the books! LOL. Then she'll be standing in line behind you!

*breaksintosong* IF YOU LIKE PINA COLADAS....

Eh hem...excuse me.

Man, I think I might just make the old man design a puzzle box and build it for me to keep my books in because I think that would be way too awesome.

OR OR! Pat should totally auction off an ARC for Worldbuilders that trapped in the puzzle box, so you can win it, but you can't read it unless you solve the puzzle. Now that'd be sick.

Chris (chris300) | 388 comments Mod
A puzzle box would probably infuriate me. I can imagine myself throwing it at a wall and screaming "LET ME READ YOU" :P

I'm going to store my books in a thrice locked chest with a copper lock and laced with copper. Back off you filthy namers!

Amber (ivorydoom) | 1471 comments Mod
Maybe throwing it at the wall will be the answer to the puzzle!

LOL.

Okay, maybe Thrice Locked Chest is a better idea....
(Minus the invisible lock, I just don't think I could deal with that)

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm gonna completely ignore my classes at school while I read TDoS then I'll read the entire series just to see what all I've missed as of right now...

Patrick needs to hurt I'm gonna die of anticipation....

message 21: by Jessica (new) - added it

Jessica Butler | 14 comments I will reread books 1 and 2 the week before. And if we don't have enough notice for me to take the day off, I will be pleading "insomnia" and staying awake all night. Reading. And damn the coma I will be in the next day. :)
