I don't think you're alone there Cindy. A huge portion of my books are from years ago. I get the impression that's one of the dangers of being a book lover/collector. Too many books, never enough time, increasing backlog. As problems go, I'm good with that:)

McCammon has all ways been one of very favorites but this Matthew Corbett series has given me an even greater appreciation for his writing. This is why he disappeared for 10 years.

The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring are both amazing, but The Two Towers are so heavy and long. I have about 100 pages left of that one though, and I hope to get it done by the end of next week (I read stuff in between). But they are definitively worth reading!

I have heard that it is an excellent series as a whole. Plan to start reading The Fellowship of the Ring sometime next month. Probably closer to the end of the month. Thanks Lina!

I remember reading The Hobbit, and then the trilogy over a summer years ago when I was in high school. I absolutely loved it, but I remember it took all summer to get through the books. I don't know if it was because I was younger or because the stories were so involved. I never did read The Silmarillion.

This series looks interesting but I want to ask one question ... any animal cruelty? I'm all about sick, twisted and disturbing books but they can sometimes involve animal cruelty and that I can't stomach.

Officially I have eight books going now. Ulysses: which I really need to get back to but'll plenty happy if I finish it in the next few months. Infinite Jest: I really need to get back to this too. The goal is to finish it by the end of the summer--it's a piece of cake after ULYSSES. Gravity's Rainbow: I started this a couple weeks ago. It's not nearly as hard as ULYSSES or IJ. Cutting for Stone , Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: I plan on reading this whole series over the next month. Deeply Odd: This is the last available one in series so I'm taking my time with it. The Catcher in the Rye, and Mister Slaughter: This series is what I've been primarily focusing on as of late. If I finish this today I'll probably start the next in the series. I just can't help myself. :)

I'm trying to finish World War Z, and then I plan to start both A Conspiracy of Paper, and A History of the World in 6 Glasses. Somewhere in there I need to finish a review copy I won of Sloughing Off the Rot, and I'd really like to start reading Screamscapes by our own Evans Light. I'm not sure how this is all going to happen. I'm also reading A Man in Full during breaks at work. I think we all share a common problem.

What a great book! Wow! Now I've put Angel's other books on my ever-expanding to-read list. And I discovered this is the first book of a trilogy! Awesome! Off to get the next one!

GONE GIRL was a really, really good one. The audiobook was amazing. It had a male and female narrator for each part. I should have given it five stars, in hindsight.

I'm listening to the audio! I agree, this is the best audiobook I've ever listened to. Both narrators are fantastic, but the girl in particular is absolutely perfect as Amy.

I'll probably finish it today. I can't wait to hear how it ends!

Okay, so I checked out the description of Hillary Flesh and Blood, after you were talking about how sick and twisted it was, and it does look really sick and twisted. I think I may have to pick the first one up and check it out. I also enjoy a little sick and twisted in my reading at times:)
