After so much time spent on the series, did you have difficulty putting the characters of Harry Potter aside to create The Casual Vacancy?

Writing fantasy, I understand how your characters can become very personal and close to you like good friends. The world you make is also where you go to when you need it. In what way did this book make you feel the same you did about writing the world of Harry Potter, if it did at all?
Was there a chapter or a segment of this book that "flowed" very easily onto the page and if so, which one?
Was it easier or more difficult to write The Casual Vacancy after spending so many years crafting HP?
What did you find most different in writing this book than the Harry Potter series? What was most challenging or interesting?
With the tremendous success of the Harry Potter series, do you believe that you are pressured to write something equally great or even greater? and are you working on anything new?
I have not yet read Casual Vacancy, but I do have a question: How much of Casual Vacancy was based on previous aspects of the Harry Potter series, and are there any similarities between the personalities of characters?
In The Casual Vacancy there are a lot of main characters each with a unique story with them. Which story was your favourite? Which character did you enjoy writing about the most?I really enjoy your books!!!
The Casual Vacancy is true to life, how did you come up with the story? Did you interview social workers to get the information or is it from life experience? Thank you for doing this Q & A for us!
I really enjoyed reading The Casual Vacancy and found it to be completely different than Harry Potter but still just as brilliant. How different was it writing a non-fantasy adventure book after spending years writing about Harry and co's adventures?
Thank you for this opportunity to address a question my favorite author, the author who marked my childhood with the beautiful series, the one that made me love reading, yes I am delighted by the idea. Before toae I'll apologize because I'm not a native speaker of English, since they are Romanian might have some mistakes in writing.
One of my many questions would be where he got the idea to change the style least breathe and the source of this new novel?
The Casual Vacancy is a much rather different novel than Harry Potter. As you were writing the book, what was your inspiration for writing it?
My question:From the many authors that have affected your writing over the years, who influenced you the most when writing The Casual Vacancy?
Casual Vacancy is totally different from the now legendary Harry Potter series. So weren't there any doubts regarding how your fans will react to a subject totally different from their favorite series and even compare or try to find something which connects it to Harry Potter?P.S:I love all your books and thank you for giving the world Harry Potter...:)
You write several times in the novel from the perspective of a teenager. Did you draw on your own childhood experiences for any or all of them?
Harry Potter has been a central part of your career, did you ever feel that by writing Casual Vacancy you were trying to escape the series in favor of something you wanted to write rather than be constricted to the Fantasy genre?
Besides for the love of reading (which I do) or for blind utter fandom (which I am), why should I read this book?
In Harry Potter books you based some of your characters personalities on yourself or people you know. Did you do that in Casual Vacancy? And to which characters? By the way being a reading teacher, just want to say what a genius you are with the seven Harry Potter writings.
My own experience has shown me that I can travel to other dimensions and talk to other souls about their lives. This is great for getting ideas for my characters. Do you ever do this?
Given the success of the Harry Potter series, were you apprehensive to write a novel that wasn't Harry Potter related?
NOTE: CONTAINS SPOILERS!Did you agonize over describing Krystal's rape and her little brother's drowning in the river? I mean after you had written it, then read it back, did it make you cringe?
I felt the characters in The Casual Vacancy were either good or bad and therefore were so flawed they became ogres (for example, Howard Mollison and his family) or didn't have enough flaws, they almost seemed perfect (such as Barry Fairbrother and his wife). Because of it, they came across rather caricatural. Was it your intention to portray them like this or would you, in retrospect, portray them differently?
Now that you have written young adult and adult, What is your favorite genre to read and to write? What will we see more of in the future?
There is a broad range of characters within The Casual Vacancy yet they're all striving to find that one happiness in life and to achieve the thing they believe they want the most. Which character do you most associate with, why do you associate with them and what is the thing you want the most?
I don't think The Casual Vacancy can truly be comprehended and appreciated until it is finished. I think this is why it recieved some negative reviews. Did you intend the book to be like this?
According to all of your books that you have been writing from the past, what kind of themes were you interested in when you wrote the Harry Potter trivia and The Casual Vacancy?
is there something special related to seven as harrypotter had seven parts, casual vacancy is divided into 7 parts and the horcruxes were also 7
Two questions:1. You and Harry Potter share the same birthday. Are there any characters in The Casual Vacancy that are based off of you?
2. When writing The Casual Vacancy did you often reflect on how far you have come, from writing on a napkin and homeless to one of the most famous women in the world?
Of all the diverse characters in Vacancy, whom, as the author did you feel was the most relatable to the average reader?
How come you developing amazing characters from vacuum which no other authors ever dream of? The character or the story comes first? I am a huge fan of Harry Potter series. I have not yet read Casual Vacancy, although i would love to read that also.
How many enemies have you made in Britain with this book? Since there is no completely functional or sane character in it, doesn't this imply to them that there is no sane person in Britain at all? (Mind you, sane people are not fun at all...)
There seems to be a wide spectrum of reviews about your fabulous novel, which I take to be a sign of broad appeal. How do you cope with the less positive comments?
The characters in A Casual Vacancy are unloveable, while the protagonists in Harry Potter so loveable. Was it difficult spending your writing days with bad guys after living in the magical world of Harry and his pals? Didn't it make you bad-tempered?
