Amy I'm reading book seven in the 39 clues series. I keep forgetting the title.

Wendy Lawrence (wendylawrence) | 21 comments Up 'til all hours last night with Moon Over Manifest. What a beautiful story!!! I love an interesting town with weird people in it any day!

message 3153: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresainohio) Between Here and Forever was an ok read. I wanted to shake some sense into Abby and the secrets in her sister's life wasn't that earthshattering. I plan on trying. Bloom before making up my mind on this author.

Amy Why did you give up on Passion? Was it bad?

Amy it was the same thing over and over with no going forward with the story. Plus there is another book in that series coming out in 2012, so that tells me the author is just dragging the series out. really there is no need to.
Not impressed by this series.

message 3157: by Angela Sunshine (new)

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) I've started listening to Across the Universe by Beth Revis and I'm really liking it so far. I got all teary the first half hour, very intense first chapter!

I just brought the series!!!

Oh, that book came in for me and I let it go to the next person, because I didn't think I'd be bale to read it in two weeks time.
I'll have to put it back on my hold list.

I wasn't a big fan of Fallen either. Way too slow for YA in my opinion.

message 3161: by Amy (new)

Amy See I loved Fallen. Wasn't a hundred percent loving the second book but I"m definitely looking forward to reading Passion. May be next on my list.

I wanted to like it but was left feeling a bit unmoved. I didn't particularly like any of the characters. It moved so slowly, and the female protagonist (see she made such an impression I can't remember her name!) was fairly slow witted when it came to figuring things out. I basically just didn't care what happened next.

message 3163: by Kellyflower (new)

Kellyflower | 136 comments Not caring for the "Fallen" Series, but love Becca Fitzpatrick's "Hush, Hush" series.

Tessa (tessaprebble) Kellyflower wrote: "Not caring for the "Fallen" Series, but love Becca Fitzpatrick's "Hush, Hush" series."

Yeah I agree! I read Hush Hush right after Fallen and wasn't feeling too won over on the whole fallen angel thing, but I liked Hush Hush. It wasn't mind blowing, but had a more refreshing voice than Fallen, and a male protagonist who was more than just a broody face!

message 3165: by Kellyflower (new)

Kellyflower | 136 comments Tessa, I found myself way more interested in Cam then Daniel in Fallen. He is way more interesting!

Have you read Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand

another good book = )

message 3166: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessaprebble) Thanks, I'll give that a go!
Yeah it's unfortunate isn't it when the male lead is too serious and the bad guy so much wittier and funny. They had the same problem in the Vampire Diaries. Who would want sulky, mopey Stefan when they could have funny, charming Damon?

message 3167: by Amy (new)

Amy I loved the Hush Hush series. I think Patch is one of those characters you totally have a love hate relationship with. I liked that Nora is a normal girl but smart about her life and the people and things in it.

Unearthly was great too. Another good one was Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

I really liked Poison Study, but the others in the series didn't impress me as much.

I liked the 2nd one, but I put over a year between the 1st & 2nd. I think I'm feeling like this 3rd book sounds just like the 2nd, and the character Yelena reminds me of Trella from her Inside Out series--jumps into trouble without thinking.

message 3171: by Amy (new)

Amy Getting ready to start Passion.

message 3172: by Julie (new)

Pirate ship? Magic? Swords? That could be a really cool or really cheesy. I'm looking forward to reading your review.

Rita Webb (ritawebb) | 183 comments My favorite pirate books are the Live Ship Trader series by Robin Hobb: Ship of Magic, The Mad Ship, and Ship of Destiny. But I can't remember what order they go in.

The books are full of intrigue and pirates and talking magical ships and dragons and sea monsters.

message 3177: by Amy (new)

Amy I'm reading Fairy Bad Day by Amanda Ashby. I picked it up on a whim. Usually I don't like fairy stories but so far it's an easy read.

I finished Passion by Lauren Kate yesterday which I absolutely loved!

message 3178: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cawils_99) I getting ready to start A Northern Light.

message 3179: by Michele (new)

Michele | 19 comments I just read a teen romance, Rules of Attraction, which was ok, but not as good as the main character's brother's story in my opinon (Perfect Chemistry), and now I've started reading A Wizard of Earthsea. I've wanted to read it for years. One of my groups here on GR is reading it so I'm making the time to do it!

message 3180: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessaprebble) Finally got my hands on the library's copy ofMockingjay, so I'm reading that in my lunch breaks and morning coffee break. Makes the time go far too quickly though!

message 3181: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I am listening to Skulduggery Pleasant and reading A Stranger to Command.

message 3182: by Michele (new)

Michele | 19 comments I am enjoying it so far....!

message 3183: by Amy (new)

Amy I'm reading Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins. Book two. Having a hard time putting it down.

message 3184: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana (schoollibrarian) | 12 comments I got most of my galley picture books out of the way, and have started The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. So far, it is really good.

message 3185: by Amy (new)

Amy I finished Demonglass which I loved. Starting Starcrossed which is easy to get into already and I"m only on chapter two.

message 3186: by Amy (new)

Amy I'm reading Clockwork Angel which I'm guessing is a prequel? Not sure I'm understanding since this one says book one but the next book in the series says book one too. Anyway, it's harder for me to get into since I'm not much for period reads and the whole steampunk thing. But I like the angel aspect of it.

Paula (pauldajo) I am reading The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag. Enjoying the story. I really dislike the interactions between the sisters, though. Poor Flavia.

Elise (nerdgirlaz) | 2 comments I am reading Wicked Lovely. Good thus far! Can't wait to see where things go from here!

Heather McCorkle (heathermccorkle) I'm reading Nightspell by Leah Cypess and am really loving it so far. It's a very original ghost story and the voice is excellent.

Nightspell (Mistwood, #2) by Leah Cypess

Donna (dfiggz) | 1332 comments I am now reading After the Moment

message 3193: by Amy (new)

Amy Pretty cover Heather!

I'm reading Angel Burn by L. A. Weatherly. Good so far, gives a different perspective on angels. They apparently aren't the good guys!

message 3194: by Eden (new)

message 3195: by Amy (new)

Amy I'm reading Forever, part of the Wolves of Mercy Falls series, third book. So far it's just eh. Hoping it picks up.

message 3196: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rbg23) I'm currently reading White Cat but I can not get into it. :(

message 3197: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rbg23) Heather, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I thought something was wrong with me because it has such high ratings.

message 3198: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished The Gathering which I didn't care for and started reading The Lost Hero which I am enjoying.

message 3199: by Eden (new)

Eden Silverfox (tsalagi_writer) | 265 comments I'm reading A Wizard's Dozen: Stories of the Fantastic edited by Michael Stearns. Some of the stories in this book are really good.

message 3200: by Amy (new)
