SOLVED. servant girl name Hope goes to magic land [s]

I remember a lot of details of this book but not its title, so here's the general plot I remember:

A girl named Hope and her brother are orphans working as servants in a house. The only thing they have left from their mother is a pair of rainbow mittens that smell slightly of Jasmine. I don't remember how, but she ends up in a magic land on a boat captained by several dwarfs. The boat has a glass bottom that she looks through, I believe she saw some mermaids. Anyways her brother also ends up in this land but he gets captured by hostile centaurs. Hope finds a djinn at some point and there's a running theme of the pandora's box myth. That's about all I remember of the book
I remember the title was the name of the ship she ends up on, and that it was the first in a series.

When did you read this Amber? Was it YA, children's or adult? Did it feel "new" at that time, or did it feel older? Were there any illustrations in the book? Any memory of what the cover might have looked like.

What happens to her brother? Did he go with her or get left behind?

I read it about 6 or 7 years ago. I don't think there were any illustrations inside, but it was in the children's section of the library.

I don't remember much of the ending of the book, but eventually Hope rescues her brother, I believe. I don't remember where they go at the end of the book

You are welcome! Yay! I solved another one. I also see that my computer deleted part of one of my previous posts. I was trying to mention that it was a series based off of another book called "the voyage of the Bassett". That the authors for this series got their ideas from that book. Stupid computers!
