Amanda (amandaroby) Thank you guys. That helps more than I can really express - knowing that SOME other people care about justice. Lately it feels no one does.

I know exactly how that feels. I feel the same way...

I can't believe they disputed unemployment!!! SERIOUSLY??? That is SO AWFUL!!

Well it's my 50th birthday on Thursday, so I'll take the bad karma and leave you with the good... ; ) Just try to keep smiling Amanda, and good luck.

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 390 comments Amanda, that's awful and I'm so sorry! I'm sure this does have to do with the fact that they didn't want to pay him more money! But to deny his unemployment? That's just pushing it way too far!!!! I hope you can slap a lawsuit on that company!

Kristen Harvey | 1046 comments So I have to get a TB test every time I start a public school job. Well this year I'm borderline again.. so yay, I get to go to a specialist. That's a sarcastic yay. He says I shouldn't worry that my risk factor is low - almost 0 - but I'm still worried. *sigh*

Misty | 1505 comments Amanda: sending good vibes

Hayes: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Kristen: Well, look at it this way: if you ever end up with TB, at least it's unusual and will confuse the hell out of people. "You have tuberculosis? wtf?" You could probably get out of conversations with annoying people you run into. "I'm sorry, my tuberculosis is acting up. *cough, cough* Excuse me."
There's always a silver lining.
;)

April (booksandwine) | 312 comments Amanda: good luck with dealing with those a-holes

Kristen, I hope you don't have TB! That sucks you have to get the test everytime. Isn't the test the one where your arm bubbles?

Hayes, Happy birthday, here's to 50 more years of wonderful reading, at least. :-D

message 208: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 1046 comments Haha Misty.

And April - yeah.. it's borderline, and there's preventative medication, but it's just a pain in the butt to run around to more doctor's appointments.

message 209: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks everyone!! Kristen I'll take your bad karma too...

Kristen Harvey | 1046 comments Thanks Hayes!

I also just realized I have just barely enough money to pay the bills.

Amanda (amandaroby) Hayes,

Happy birthday then! Mine is on Tuesday the 11th, so we're pretty close in dates. :)

Kristen,

I wish you the best of luck with the doctor. I've been in and out of doctors offices since my teens, so I know the frustration. Most of my ailments they can never figure out. Who knows?

Amanda R. in Louisville, who suddenly feels like she's whining a lot, but is actually somewhat cheerful today.

Okay... I usually don't have a rant, but today something really bothered me. I went into a store to buy something. I was the only customer inside and I was at the counter waiting to be helped. The lady looked right at me, turned around, picked up her cell phone, dialed a number, and then said she would be right with me! I mean how rude!! After she was finished with her personal call she came over got what I wanted and asked me if that was all. After I said yes, she asked me again if that was all I needed. I mean what is the point in asking a question when you aren't going to listen to the answer the first time??? Ughh... this just really bothered me because I have been in customer service before and I KNOW this is the wrong way to act while on the clock.

It feels pretty good to get all that out! :)

Misty | 1505 comments That drives me out of my mind. My mom and I were shopping for furniture once, and we went in this one store that was basically dead. The only people in there were friends of the saleswoman, and they were just chatting, not buying. There was a doorbell that dinged when we came in; she looked up at us -- nothing.
Didn't say hi, didn't say she'd be right with us, just looked at us and went back to her conversation. We figured maybe they were customers, so we didn't think that much of it. Walked around the entire store waiting for her to come help us, because we didn't see what we were looking for -- nothing.
We finally lingered near where she was talking to these people (which is when we realized they were friends -- they were talking about someone having an affair or something ridiculous), and she looked at us repeatedly but never said a word.
I normally swallow things back and laugh about it later, but I really wanted to say, 'Bitch, what are they paying you for?'
grrr.

Misty | 1505 comments I'm really not all that foul-mouthed, but sometimes...

message 215: by [deleted user] (new)

It was very frustrating the way I was treated today. I just want to go into every store I see now, just to make sure I can have a good experience as well! Haha... maybe I just want to shop... hmmmm

message 216: by April (new)

April (booksandwine) | 312 comments Wow, that's ridiculous people in customer service would treat you that way. Currently I work in customer service for what amounts to pennys, and I would never ever dream of treating a customer like that. Whatever happened to work ethic?

That was the perfect rant antidote. You've gotta love people like that. They are the ones who should be in customer service.

Kristen Harvey | 1046 comments I hate rude people. :( Makes for a bad experience for everyone around them. This guy cut me off and the way home and I beeped at him. He didn't like that I beeped at him, for cutting me off.. or rather swerving right in front of me so he didn't have to break and wait for someone to turn. Ugh. And then he screamed "what" when I beeped and threw his hand out the window in an angry gesture.

Kristen, you have far more patience/less road rage than I do. LOL, I probably would have tail-gated/blared Ludacris "Move Bitch". I hate hate hate getting cut off, and when people do cut me off, I tend to let out a colorful stream of words. That makes me think of this Dane Cook quote, "Then get this right? I'm driving along man I'm driving as I'm driving, I'm driving safely. I'm obeying the rules..of the road. Whatever sign comes at me I look at it and I go ..Ok. you got it, sign. Right so I'm driving safely all of a sudden a guy in another lane,
compeletly oblivious to me. He starts coming into my lane. JUST COMING IN And if I didn't see him coming in..accident. But because I saw him..ah I see HEYY Right i see. I assess the situation. I see I assess the sit-u-a-tion. And then I uh eased on the brake. As he's coming I ease. And I said what anybody here says automatically when this happens. You can't help it. It just comes out, ready? ready?...Umm, Hello?"

Kristen Harvey | 1046 comments Haha April... I did flick him off well.. only I saw it.. but still. I did it. And then I turned to my fiance and said "I was totally justified beeping at him right?" - god, I'm too nice a person somedays.

LOL, awwww Kristen. No one expects you to be perfect, esp. with the TB tests on top of dealing with a-hole drivers. :-)

Kristen Harvey | 1046 comments Yeah, my fiance took me out to dinner to cheer me up. He said he'd buy me roses, but he did that last time I got upset. And he doesn't want me to ruin surprises by expecting flowers every time I'm upset. He's such a sweetie. I have no idea how I found a guy that awesome. *sigh* love him so much.

April (booksandwine) | 312 comments Right now, all I want to do is post comments on people's blog updates but stupid Google keeps sending me to a screen that says Sorry Your Network Is Sending Automated Queries. But, my network's not. Ughhhh. I wish they would just make me type in some stupid captcha so I could fix this whole problem, and get on with posting awesome comments.

Ugh, screw blogger.
