Julia | 215 comments Sorry to have dropped off the face of earth (almost!)

It doesn't take much arm twisting to get me to reread de Lint. Asking is sufficient. Someplace to Be Flying is probably my favorite novel of his, if pressed. I've reread it relatively recently, but I haven't reread Forests of the Heart at all, so yeah I'm up for it.

(Btw, I quite liked Mulengro/romany Tale.)

The only de Lint that's new to me is the Wilding YA series.

Great! I was hoping the selection would be one readily available at my library, and it is. (I am also attempting to limit book purchases.)

Yay! So I am just confirming:

Forests of the Heart (Newford, #10) by Charles de Lint by Charles de Lint starting September 1st!

Participating Cathy, Chris, Julia, Leah, Melanti, myself and anyone else who wants to join!

I will start a new thread in the buddy reads folder.

Julia, my all time favourite is Some Place to be Flying too, so maybe another time!?

Julia | 215 comments Maybe in six or so months, Jalilah we could read Someplace to Be Flying (Newford, #8) by Charles de Lint as buddies, or with the larger group. I love to read Charles de Lint, but I like him best spaced out between other authors.

Katy (kathy_h) | 882 comments I've got Forests of the Heart on order. I'll be in for September.

Agreed Julia Someplace to Be Flying in 6 months sounds good! I wish I could say I thought if this comparison myself, but I read it some where: that Charles De Lint books are like Belgian chocolates or a rare vintage wine, you don't consume them all at once rather savour them slowly one at a time!
