Alright then homies, it's about that time again... suggest your book of choice! I'll have the poll up by tomorrow if we get enough suggestions and I want to start on something new by next Monday.

I'll go ahead and suggest Snow Crash again.
Possibly The Gone-Away World;
I've started reading it, really enjoying it so far.

Dram | 21 comments I'll re-suggest Slaughterhouse-Five

As a side note, I DON'T think we should read P&P&Z. Not that it isn't good, but that seems like more of a niche thing, and not something everyone would enjoy. I may be wrong though, and I'll certainly give it a go if that's what shakes down the tubes.

I lurved it, and want to re-read it before tackling the rest of the series

Vicki Delaski (vdelaski) | 11 comments I've heard several people mention this one. I've only read the cover but it sounds good: Where Angels Fear to Tread by Pascal

Great suggestions so far, gang!

Ok, question: If we do a shorter book, would you guys like to do two books within the month? I know that The Road, for example, was a quick read. So maybe this time instead of 4 weeks we knock it down to 2.5 if it's a smaller book? Maybe that way we can get rolling on some of these more excellent suggestions.

Thoughts?

Self-propelled | 40 comments I'm going to suggest The City And The City, which is China Miéville's new book. I don't know much about it, but Miéville is one of the most original and exciting authors in this or any genre today. Check out Perdido Street Station or The Scar for some compelling urban weird-fantasy if you haven't had a chance to read his stuff yet. I'd also go for Slaughterhouse-Five.

Alright, we are totally rockin' the cyberpunk so far with these suggestions ;)

Posting up the poll soon so hold off on any more suggestions. I think we have a pretty good spread already.

Dram | 21 comments I'm definitely up for two books a month, assuming they're not, you know, the bible. Spent a long time on Watchmen when we read that, but I still finished way early.

Self-propelled | 40 comments Yep two a month would be fine.

I think we should just remove whichever book wins this month- and keep the same poll for next month.

@Ainulindale - we can try that but we also have to accommodate for new suggestions. We'll figure it out. :) Thanks for the suggestion!
