Appreciate the humor, but Yes, on WOSU Ch 34 Columbus and elsewhere even post banned Garrison Keillor. That is not my point. The FIRST AMENDMENT is. Yes, Sesame St.too.

Let's ban drug commercials on TV! (Fostering a culture of drugs for the sake of Pharma profits is not the First Amendment.)

Doug | 2834 comments Ban grocery ADVERTISEMENTS because I don't believe meat is safe food.

message 19647: by Sally (new)

Sally (brasscastle) | 166 comments The scripts for the drug ads should be read with a serious voice, to reflect the seriousness of the side effects. ("Death," for example - it don't get no more serious than that. Of course, once you're dead, you don't need to worry about the drug anymore.) These 'narrators' sound far too cheery for the product offered.

I've noticed lately a preponderance of ads with scripts that have nothing to do with the product. I don't get that at all. What's the point? Of course, about 20 years ago, we were overrun with ads that didn't advertise any product, which I also didn't get. I soon determined that if I had no idea what they were selling, I didn't need it, and ignored them. Somehow I survived without those products, or whatever they were trying to sell.

Doug | 2834 comments You SURVIVED those free speech ads? You are smarter now? You even suspect they had other motives?
