Being an air conditioning fan would be tiring in some climates. Are you a ceiling fan then, living in the great cold north?
Fast & loose
(Sharon: Yes, prefer ceiling fans, open windows, attic fan, shade trees, anything to get the fresh air in and to prevent the slight sore throat ac tends to give me.)

Loosestrife
(I, too prefer fresh air, but if you lived in Redlands, where I used to live, where there are days on end of 100 plus degrees, you'd be forced into AC.

(So far we have had to use the ac a few times. We live in a high fire zone, so the house has a concrete roof. The house tends to stay cooler. We open a few windows and a breeze flows through.)
Riccocco (sp?)
(It's the same ole story everywhere. You shop, you go to an ac environment. You want to sleep, you indulge in an ac environment. We become more and more remote from our world... the real one... and more and more attuned to creature comforts.)
