Hi all! I just joined online, I've followed the book lists for years, just never was in the group, hoping to enjoy books with other ladies!! Just starting The Big Kahuna by Janet Evanovich
Hi, I guess this is the welcome thread. I am Marjorie. I haven't been reading anything lately. However, I am over being burned out from school and ready to read some good books. I use to read P. D. James mystery novels until I felt that murder mysteries were depressing me. I am interested in something other than romance novels though
How about trying my psychological thriller, TOMBSTONE BLUES (Keith M. Noble)? There's a whole range of psychological thrillers out there.
Daisy Jones & The Six - I am loving this book so much and can't put it down. I found that Reese Witherspoon is doing an Amazon TV show based on the book. With the right casting, this could be amazing. I can't wait.
I'm currently reading Swallowtail Summer by Erica which is a feel good take to the beach type read. It covers a variety of topics: friendships, loyalty, secrets, trust, infidelity, change and how these can impact on the characters in the story. I would strongly recommend this book.
I just started reading a book called "A Good Enough Mother" by Bev Thomas. I'm only a couple of chapters in, but so far it's drawing me to reach for it whenever I can.
nearly finished with God help this child by toni Morrison and just started with Underland by Robert McFarland. I have been getting excited using Amazon prime though today...

Too late, I discovered that they were horribly abused by their father and stepmother. I may not have been great, but I never would have hurt them! My heart was broken by the broken arm my son had, and the death of my daughter from a gun shot wound to the head. I am still trying to forgive myself.
I am currently reading The Underground Railroad and wow, this is a good read! I am in love with the authors' style of writing. The Underground Railroad
Before We Were Yours, for August book club. Very hard at the start -- had to re-read a lot but now it is coming together.
Finished

Currently rereading Dracula ♥️ it is an amazing book- highly recommend if you want to get some classics under your belt. Also just finished Where the Crawdads Sing- so emotional and powerful. Loved it
Just started Negroland by Margo Jefferson. It’s part memoir and part history book about the black “aristocracy” or as we used to call them, boogie black folks. I spent the second half of my childhood in this world after my parents were able to afford to move into a neighborhood of black doctored, lawyers, academics, etc. My parents didn’t fit in though. My mother was a secretary and my father was a merchant seaman. We had a very icy welcome to the neighborhood.
Phoenix wrote: "Hi, currently I am reading many books. this just one."Loved this book so much! She is a relatable woman!
I have finished The Underground Railroad !! Such an amazing read - I like how his style of writing is different. It goes against the structure they teach you to conform to.I am now reading a "Throwback" book The Perks of Being a Wallflower! I can relate to being a wallflower, for sure.
I am reading Oprah's book "The Path Made Clear". Great book, full of wise comments that are so useful in your own life. Not just from Oprah, but from people she has interviewed. I will keep this book to refer to when I need to.
