I've got to read this. I unfortunately was not able to attend when Gail Lukasik was at our library speaking about her books several years ago. Also her husband was police chief of the town I am in and just retired in August or September.

Q-House | 4 comments I'm currently reading P.S. Meraux's Flare Flare by P.S. Meraux . It's the final book in the Luminary Series. I like YA paranormal supernatural mystery type stories and this series has definitely held my attention. It's relateable. Its also clean and full of humor which I didn't expect.

Amanda Adams (booksbyamandaadams) | 13 comments The Sangrita Club by Amanda Adams Hi! I am Amanda Adams, author of The Sangrita Club. I recommend this book to every woman on the planet. This book is relevant to the current #MeToo / #TimeUp movement. Every woman will fall in love with this novel, because they will see themselves in the pages. It details and embraces the issues that women of all ethnicities and ages have struggled with for decades. Wit and humor are used to shine a light on the fact that we are all very different in terms of how we look, where we come from and our educational backgrounds, but we are truly similar when it comes to the issues we struggle with as women.

message 3642: by Mary. (new)

Mary. | 1 comments Hi All!
I'm looking for a reading buddy to talk to about current reads etc. since coming to the conclusion that book clubs aren't really my thing. If anyone's up for something of the sort, please please please make sure to contact me.

message 3643: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (lesliejean43) | 403 comments Hi Mary, I absolutely understand! Book clubs aren't my thing either. My library has a weekly 'book chat', so people can drop in and discuss whatever they are reading. Everybody is NOT reading the same books. Maybe your library would be willing to provide a space for that sort of group. If not, maybe you could find a few people who'd be interested and you could meet elsewhere. It's a great way to hear about books you may be interested in reading. I hope you can find a way to make that work, or you may find people here who would be interested in an online discussion. Best wishes to you!

message 3644: by Dolly (new)

Dolly | 1 comments Angela,

I just finished Nfudu - skirts, ties & taboos by Oby Aligwekwe. It is the most amazing piece of fiction I have read in a while. In the past six months, I have read at least 45 books. Wondering how I find the time? Im recently retired and visited my daughter in the state, and with nothing else to do, all I did was read. The book has romance, crime, taboos, culture, history. Set in Paris, London and Lagos in 1960's. Here is the link to Amazon for Nfudu http://a.co/b5xoX1Q. Take care
