Hi fellow Classics readers. My name is Paul and I have been enjoying reading the classics for more than 50 years. Favourite (classics) authors are too long to list but a few are: Charles Dickens, Victor Hugo, Robert Louis Stevenson, Joseph Conrad, John Steinbeck, Albert Camus, J.R.R. Tolkien, Saki, M.R. James as well as many of the writers from the Ancient Greek and Roman periods such as Livy and Plato. I am also a bit of nerd, so enjoy Jules Verne and H.G. Wells. These last were the first authors that I enjoyed reading - when I was six or seven.

Hi everyone my name is Robert. I want to start reading more classics and so I just had to join this group!
I read The Picture of Dorian Gray and absolutely loved it. It's my favourite book and it got me back into reading fiction. I'm currently reading Lolita by Nabokov and am enjoying that just as much, even if its contents are rather controversial.
I'm fairly new to goodreads and this is the first group I've joined in the hope of becoming a more active reader and to gain some more ideas on what to read next, as well as, offering suggestions to others that need it.

I'm Stefania, an Italian teenager in love with fantasy books, but lately I've been thinking about knowing something more about classics. Of course I read some of them (I love Charles Dickens!) but I feel like reading more of them, I just don't know what to choose!
