Hi and welcome MJ! Since we read a different variety of books each month you can pick and choose to read one or two and then take off a month or two. Discussions are always available so you can jump in anywhere! Happy reading! :)

Welcome Bevin! Sorry about your other group dissolving, it happens that way sometimes! In the meantime, glad you found our group which has something for everyone! Enjoy yourself and happy reading! :)

Hi and welcome Squire! You'll find that you're not alone here. Many of us, including myself, are playing catch up on reading the classics! I am also a fan of reading real books, no devices for me! I'm sure you'll enjoy the books and discussions here! Happy reading! :)

Hi and welcome Melissa! Sounds like you have your hands full but I'm glad you'll be with us to read some classics! Happy reading! :)

Hi and welcome Linda to Goodreads and to our classics group which definitely inspires reading! I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here! Happy reading! :)

Hi Paige, welcome! Happy reading! :)

What do you mean by "copyright free classics"?

Thank you, Loretta, and others for the welcome posts

Hi Jason, welcome! Glad you joined our group to journey through the classics! Enjoy and happy reading! :)

Wow, I just found it inside Kindle app! Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi and welcome Lisamarie! So glad you've joined our group to reacquaint yourself to the classics! We have a great array of books to choose from each month, so jump in and enjoy yourself! Happy reading! :)

Hi and welcome Tasmin! You're in good company here with other members whose favorite book is Pride and Prejudice and who love Jane Austen! I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here! Happy reading! :)

Tasmin, I think Pride and Prejudice is my favorite book too...certainly my favorite classic for pure fun.
I'm just starting with this group too; it seems like a lively community!

Welcome to all of our new members. It looks like we gained about 30 new readers yesterday, a very good day. Glad you chose us, looking forward to a great year.

Out of copyright classics, which makes them in the public domain and free! Yep there's plenty to choose from on kindle. Judging from your other posts it looks like you've found them. Generally, if the books about 100 years old or more, there's a good chance you can pick up a free copy.

Jason, I think some of SK's books could be classed as modern classics, at least of the horror genre. I just finished War and Peace, it was totally worth the wait and not as daunting as the size had led me to believe!
Lisamarie, I hope you find some time for classics now that life is sounding a little calmer! Happy new year :)
Tasmin, Pride and Prejudice is a great book, though it's not my personal favourite Austen (that prize goes to Persuasion!) Anyway, I hope we inspire you to try some more classics, when you find time around your studies :)

I have just started to get active and I'm new to Goodreads groups. Already on a project of reading Classics individually, I joined the group to hopefully participate in monthly reads and read together with other people.
While I like pretty much any genres, thought-provoking books are fascinating to me and there is an abundance of them among classics.
Looking forward to read and discuss books with others! :)

I first fell in love with books while reading the Harry Potter series, I was about 10 years old. Also, I read Harry Potter in English instead of Croatian and that helped me a lot with the language.
Later I read almost anything that I could get a hold of.
Currently, I'm totally in love with the Russian authors. And Anna Karenina is on top of my to-read list (I started reading it about 10 years ago for school, I read half of it, the book was very interesting but I never had the time to finish it, so these days I'll be starting over).
The best gift I ever received was my Kindle, 4 years ago for my birthday. I absolutely love it. I have so many books on it and I always have it with me, so I read every free second I get, like waiting in line at the bank or while on a bus drive.
I looked to the topics of this group, they are really great. I love them, but there are also so many that it seems a bit overwhelming. I hope I can find my space to participate somewhere.

I'm very deeply inlove with classics and poetry. so that's why i decided to join this group, and i saw alot of topics down here.

Welcome Bryan, I used to love reading Green Eggs and Ham to my children when they were younger! You're in the right place if you love classics and poetry. Hopefully you can join us for some group reads and discussions :)

Hi and welcome Ana! A little baby boy! How wonderful and he's already a reader thanks to you!
That was my first experience with Anna Karenina also. I started it, put it down and started it again. Excellent read!
Our group is very laid back, which is good because you have the opportunity to participate in all the group reads each month, or just pick and choose the books you'd like to read. Group discussions are basically the same way, even if you'd read a book years ago you can still join in the discussions! So jump in, anywhere and enjoy yourself! Happy reading! :)

Hello and welcome Bryan! I love poetry too! I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here! Happy reading! :)
